If I miss an Interferon and Ribavirin treatment, will it cause negative reactions or interfere with results from the treatment?

How soon did you take both afterwards?

If the virus is not completely annhiliated but only at undetectible levels it could cause you to have a breakthrough during treatment or if you are not yet UND it could cause your viral load to rise significantly enough so that perhaps you did not ever get to UND again.

It is crucial that you take ALL doses of the meds properly for the best chance at success and if you need for some crazy reason not to take a shot on the particular night you usually do - take it in advance a day but never later.

It depoends on what you mean by missing a treatment. Forgetting the Second Ribavirin dose of a day won't be bad if you take it ASAP. iF YOU TAKE THE iNTERFEON 12 HOURS OR A DAY LATE IT WON'T BE BAD AS LONG AS YOU GET BACK ON TRACK RIGHT AWAY.

like bill said it depends what week you missed. later in tx would have less consequences. either way try and get back on schedule as soon as possible.

It’s obviously best to remain 100% complaint with your treatment regimen, but we are human and prone to error. How many weeks have you done so far? There might be more leeway after the initial 12 weeks, or when one has become undetectable for virus. Discuss this with your doctor, so he knows what's up.

Do the best you can,

Bill
