Nose And Ear

Good morning everyone!!!! I know this has probley been posted before but I cant remember.I,m having trouble with my nose its real dry and feels like maybe sores inside, what will help me with this, also I dont know if its a sx but my right ear hurts not like an ear ache but pain right where your jaw meets your ear.I would appreciate any help with this.

I have nose problems already, have actually had surgery to correct it, and just made it worse. My nose gets really dry inside, and sometimes bleeds. I use Ayr gel, it is an over the counter saline gel, and works great. Also, I have Ocean Spray, which is also over the counter Saline nose spray. They both work, very well. Dr had me using them after surgery to keep moist and clean. I have continued using them whenever my nose gets real dry. Hope it helps.

I had the same problem... The nose gel or ocean water should help.
Are you clinching your teeth at night??? I had pain there too.
It might be tmj..

I'm not aware of clinching my teeth at night but I woke two mornings in a row and my jaw felt like someone hit me real painful to open my mouth.It didnt last all day just right after I got up, every since then I've had the problem with my ear.

I also had ear pain, when I told the doc. He checked my ears and said he could not see anything wrong. Then asked me about clinching or grinding my teeth. I also didn't notice it in the beginning. You might want to talk it over with your doc.

Th first time on tx I had horrible pain in my jaw/ear area. I must have had every test out there to find out what was wrong and it turned out to be tmj which is managable by using a mouth guard at night,since that is when we grind our teeth the most.I noticed it was especialy bad day after shot night.

My insurane didn't cover the cost to have a dentist make it but my pharmacist told me about an over the counter do it yourself kit. It really does help. It runs about $30. Good luck to you I know how painful that can be.

Something that really helped me w/ dry nose is just a small humidifier or vaporizor. You can get them at Wal-mart for little or nothing, and run it during the night while you sleep.  Joni

Hey there hun,
So sorry to hear about the dry nose mine is also bad dry mouth too cant keep enough water for that one.
I am also wondering besides the clenching of the teeth I started taking an anti d and it has caused me to have tightness in my jaw that causes my ears to hurt.
I am taking lexapro.

Thank ya'll for the help,just got back from town with the Ayr gel snook mentioned maybe that will be all I need if not I'll try the humidifier. I will ck out the things for clinching teeth also.You guys have help me alot thanks again...Debra


Dottie...I know what you mean about the water,my throat stays sore and mouth dry no matter how much water I drink. All in all I think I'm doing good.I got a little over emotional one day just out of the blue... but it passed thank goodness I would hate to be like that the whole time.Thanks for the e-mail .Talk to you soon.((Be Well))

well i must say i did not see the post. I really wondered what I had ever done or said to you to receive such negative posts from you but hey with tx we all know strange things happen. And if not tx driven maybe I once said something to make you uncomfortable as well.
Hey its ok everyone doesnt have to like everyone, but I assure you that I am just me a woman undergoing 48 weeks of pegintron and riba. with a possibility of 72 weeks so my doc says. that is if the platelets hold up.
Anyway I am really trying to reduce as much of the stress in my life as possible that is why I stopped posting here it really hurt my feelings. But hey forgive and forget right.

Thank you Chevy, I may just do that,right now till the first of the year my insurance pays 100% on all Dr visits and test due to my neck surgery being so expensive. With my throat sore,nose and my ear bothering me sounds like a good idea. I hope you're feeling well post tx..... Debra
