I think that you've cleared my confusion in that after the shot there's still the riba for a wk. I too, am going 3 down 21 to go - unless of course I don't clear by week 12...
Thanks everybody.
Oops, in your case, after your last shot it would be 24 down, 0 left...with 7 days of riba left to take through week 24.
I did a countdown with my treatment too. I counted shots. So, after I did first shot it was "1 down, 47 left". Once you get to "48 down, 0 left, you'll still have a week of riba to take for that 48th week of treatment.
James: Blue?? mine are orange,oh oh maybe I have been dropping to much Vit c !
Gee... you'll be drug free on my birthday...guess we'll both be celebrating that day.
Diane
I can only speak for myself. But my treatment is 168 days from Aug 13th to Jan 27th. That's 24 weeks. Last shot 1/21 last pills 1/27. On Jan 28th I won't be taking anymore medication. That's 24 injections and 672 blue bombs.
To Susan and Diane;
In my RIBA filled weeks it sometimes feels like there is nine days,so I just eat them day after day hope it ends sometime! lol
Depends if you're looking at it from a clinical and milestone point of view or what week you are IN. For testing purposes, you are at Week 4 when you've completed 4 weeks and you'd get your test on the day you do your fifth shot. From an actual treatment perspective, the day you do your 5th shot is the day you head into Week 5. Clinically, the week is marked by what END of week you're at and experientially, it's marked by what BEGINNING of week you're at.
You still do 24 weeks. For you, 24 weeks will be marked at the beginning. For your medical team, it will be marked at the end.
Thanks for the answer. Yeah, I know there's 7 days in a week ;), it just read as odd to me that week 1 started on day 8, wk 2 on day 15, wk 3 on day 22.
When a person is counting every day until completion they are all important. Looking at my papers, my 24th week starts on day 169 and I'm still taking drugs for the next 7 days. So that means I'm actually doing 25 weeks all told. I just wondered if SOC was counted the same way.
A week is 7 days therefore on day 7 you have completed your first week. When you get your PCRs for week 4, you need to get it on the day of your 5th shot, and the one for your 12th week needs to be on the day of your 13th shot.
Then they are talking about completed weeks. You have completed week 2. That still makes you *in* week 3, but not completed.
Actually, according to my study papers I am on week 2 even though I just had my #3 shot. The first week on the study is written up as week 0. Guess I'll ask about the timing of various blood work when I go back next week.
Week 1 starts with the first shot and lasts up until the second shot and then it's Week 2, etc. It's really 24 weeks or 168 days. (Unless you're doing 48 weeks which would be twice as long...).
So during week two you have *completed* one week (and a partial week).
You are now technically on week 3.
