to be Inferon shot or not to be....

Yes So  went to visit my mom today and she told me that she was able to get the shots because her blood presure is too high! Its like 200over 130 or something like that so she has to wait like 6 more months til she can take it (if her pressure is down) so it sucks!! Just thought I would share that with everyone.... hope she makes it through all of this

I'm still in NY but will be back in FL on Tues. for a week then back to NY for the last 3 shots and then home for good. Can't wait till this is ove for good.
I see you are thinking about if you should stop or do the other 4 weeks.  From that, I wouldn't be surprised to see you post that you are going all the way to the end my friend.

Question.  I have not started treatment yet but I have noticed a few comments that have me wondering.  To have the rescue drugs ready.  Is it a good thing to have Procrit and what all before you start treatment? What other drugs should I ask for so I can have everything?

Hi.  Good Sunday morning.  I don't think any doc will give you the Procrit to just keep until you need it, but it is advisable to find out if they will prescribe it when needed and at what drops you require for them to rx. It is also advisable to check with your insurance company to see what the policy will cover. The alternative is to reduce the interferon when the absolute neutrophils drop, and reduce the ribavirin when the hemoglobin drops.  Studies have show that it is best to stay on the maximum duse, especially at the beginning of the program.

Some of the docs refer the blood monitoring to a hemotologist (blood specialist).  Mine did and I like that.

Good morning buddy, your HGB really dropped in one week.  Do you have the procrit approved and ready to go in case you need it? The procrit takes weeks to start working. I get B12 shots that seems to help too.
Your 11th shot already, I can remember talking about when you'll get started on tx.  For me shot # 20 tonight, can't wait till this is over.

It does seem that these bad weather patterns are hitting someplace new every couple of months.  We couldn't even get take out for dinner tonight because every place is closed down.  That really never happens around here except with a blizzard in the winter!
It stinks that hurricane season is almost upon you again.  It is always so stressful for people in the most likely paths.  I hope this one is a mild one, that's for sure!
Yes, just a few more days.  Of course I am torn between thinking I should just keep on going, and just stop right now.  Not sure I'll ever be satisfied! Isn't that always the case?!  Hope you had a nice day today Beagle!  Are you in Fl with your wife right now?  I hope so!  Have a good night!

Thanks for the warm Mother's Day wishes!  We are floating away here in MA, roads are closed, stores are closed.  It is crazy!  Reason enough to just hang out and be lazy.  Looking forward to nap time.  Hope you have a fantastic day!

What do you mean looking forward to naptime? Isn't always naptime on treatment? ;-) My family told me that my mother's day present was going to be that I could sleep on the couch all day Sunday and then they burst out laughing since that's what I do almost every Sunday (Sat is my shot day.) Flooded here to (I'm on the NY/VT/MA border.) Hi Friole, Hi Fresnoborn--major brain fog these days, but aren't we all on about the same treatment track (I'm on week 44)? I'm really counting the days, although the endate is kind of a moving target for me (I didn't clear until 25/27 weeks.) Hope all is well with all--I haven't posted in quite a while--I've been very busy and stressed at work and generally feeling like ****!

You are so right, I could use a 5 month long tx nap.  Except, I only REALLY get to nap when my 2 year old does.  So, I look forward to HER naptime.  Haha.
I did my last shot on Thursday, but fully intend to keep up the nap routine as long as humanly possible.  Mine and hers.
I didn't realize we were in the same neck of the woods.  If it keeps raining like this, we might just float past eachother on the highway somewhere.  Have a great, relaxing day :)

I saw on the internet how bad New England was with the flooding.  It's like every few months another part of the country get's hit.  In 2 weeks the new hurricane season begins.
You only have have 3 more days of RIBA and your done!!!!!!!

Wow that is high, and they would have to bring it way down before starting. Try not to worry she'll make it. I was cirrhosis at least 3 years before i decided to do something about it, and then it took 3 months to start. Try not to worry she'll be fine. Best to both of you.
