herpes a side effect of tx?

   This is a little weird, but I get herpes on my hand.  When I was two years old I burned myself, my older sister kissed the booboo with her coldsore infected lips, so I get herpes outbreaks on my right index finger.  Until this morning I haven't had an outbreak in 18 years ( I'm only 31).  
    Are coldsores and other herpes outbreaks a side of tx?  I would have thought that the antivirals I'm on would help.  Has this happened to anyone else?

I am on week 18 of Incivek Triple and have the worst cold sores I have ever had.  Perhaps it is something else, going to GP today

I very seldom get cold sores but within 5-6 weeks of starting tx I had my worst one ever.  Valtrex cleared it up.

I'll join the crowd and say that I had a one-day cold sore, which is very unusual for me. Normally I have to blast it with high-dose acyclovir. I also got the impression that the ribavirin was doing double duty.

I actually got a cold sore on tx about 5 weeks ago.
Instead of it taking the normal 11 days to go away,
(From tingle to drying up) mine went away
in 3 days.  I assume it is the Riba that made it go away so fast.
BTW-I haven't had a cold sore in many years.
I also haven't been sick in like 10 years. (Pre tx)
Seems my body fighting the HCV was fighting
everything else as well.

I haven't had a coldsore since I started treatment 17 weeks ago.  Before treatment, any stress at all would cause them and now I have all the stress in the world and I do not get them.  One plus for the anti virals at least for me.
