poop revisited!!!!!

Just Kidding guys.  Really MY question is I received my 12 week results yesterday and I'm at 14,000 but I started with 37 million!  My doctor says I'm doing great but I had heard you should be clear by 12 weeks or you might as well throw in the towel. Should I keep moving ahead or go onto Infergen?  Any opinions?

They are looking for a 2 log drop at 12 weeks.
They seem to think its an indicator as to overall outcome.

St George,,,,Sounds wonderful to me!  37 million,,,you had alot of those viral bugs floating around and look how many you already shot down!  More then 2 log drop!  This is good news!  Take another pcr if your insurance allows and dr in 2 more weeks so you will know when you actually show undetectable and then from there tack on weeks from that date of undetectable and you will be well on your way!  Congratulations!

Is it true that a person should go 36 more weeks

Is this a poo thread or not?

stopping because you are still detectable at wk 12, even when you are a responder, is a complete disservice to the patient! You are responding! But been detectable at wk 12 means that a total of 48 wks might not be the best shot at SVR. The 36 wk issue is a suggestion, not a fact. the longer you can tolerate the tx, the better your shot.

make sure you are on the same page with your dr.

that was a 3.42 drop which is VERY respectable with a starting vl of 37 mil. keep it up.

I have to get PCR in 2 weeks at week 11. Does this mean if I am detectable, but have a 2 log drop at week 11 I should treat longer? The ins. co won't send drugs after 12 weeks w/o a PCR, so most of us have to test at least a week earlier.

Goof;  It does say a poop thread, seems like everyone is off track today.  Must be Brian messing with our fog.

They are looking for a 2 log drop at 12 weeks...

What does that mean? I'm sure I didn't see that on the newbie thread.

I'm tx for 24 wks with geno 2b and I am going to try to get my Dr. to order a 4 wk pcr, even tho he said my ins will not pay. Thats what everyone told me to do, even if I have to pay myself.

ALSO anyone know if this Dr. can write a test order without turning in to ins. (if I pay myself)or should I be ready with another doc. and do the second opinion thing?

scroll WAAAYYY down to 5.26 under fishdocs consult.  I also did not have a 2 log drop, and went to see a university doc...

a 2 log drop is figuered by dropping the last 2 zeros off of your starting vl.
ie. start at 2,200,000 drop the last 2 zeros for 22,000.
i agee with a 4 week pcr even if you pay yourself. it says a bunch of how well it is really going. if und at 4 weeks your chances go waaay up for svr. they even stop tx sooner in some cases but that is a little risky.
i sure wish i had paid for one but i did not have the counsel of this forum.
