post tx liver ache

I finished tx Feb 2. Stats- 38 year old female geno 3A,begin VL 185,000 stage 2 grade1 acheived UND 4weeks into TX and remain UND. I haven't had the dull liver ache since I started tx, but now that I am post I have felt it this last week. Has anyone experienced this? I have been exercising a lot more and I did cut my water a little...although I have now increased again.Do you think that it is normal or something to be concerned about?

Hi, have you tried a good anti-gas/anti-acid?  Try that and gulp down a liter of seltzer water, not club soda, the kind without sodium, that's what I do, you might feel a lot better!

Thank you for your supportive responses...this tx has been a real emotional rollarcoaster and when I felt this
I like everyone else has posted freaked out! The thing is it really does feel higher than the old liver ache. Still it just too close to the liver for comfort. But I do feel relieved that others have experienced it.Thank you again. Will keep all of you in my prayer and will advise of any info or changes

It also happened to me. A few weeks post-tx my liver area pain came back. Of course it freaked me out thinking RELASPE but it went away after a few more weeks.
I remember it happened to a few other on this board.

First, not to contradict anyone but I would put your chances considerably higher than 60%. I'm 3A and my hepo doc gave me about a 90% with significantly more damage, older, and male. Studies I read seem to agree. It's like close to 80% going in (based on published studies), that improves when you clear at 4 weeks, and improves further if you stay the course till completion.

Next, I had so much pressure and discomfort that I was pretty sure I relapsed. My doc responded 'It could be a recurrence of the virus, I'd like to do a viral load test'. I remember that email vividly. Turned out it was nothing - most of it was backed up bowels. The drugs and coming off the drugs buggered up my plumbing something fierce.

Try to relax - could be a relapse but very unlikely.

Hi, we are more or less in the same place, I am type 3 and finished about the same day, we both had approx. the same viral load, I had to stop treatment at 15 weeks due to side effects, but I already was clear of virus by the second week of tx.  Funny, I noticed the same thing, but I think returntosender could very well be correct.  Within a few days after last injection I started getting similar feeling, but it is probably due to reasons returntosender mentions.  Gas and acid can collect up there and seem like liver pain at times when it is not.  Keep in mind that with your genotype, rapid response to treatment, low viral load it is unlikely you will not remain clear, you have 80% to 90% chance of cure, that's what I keep telling myself to remain sane while I wait for first post treatment viral load.  My doctors are still very confident I'll remain clear, so I would assume you are in the same situation, but we all have to wait and see, hang in there,

After tx ended, I started to have some pain midchest that I thought was liver pain but it turned out to be esophogeal irritation caused by the treatment drugs.  It was very bad for a while, even required an er visit once, and from time to time it flairs up when I take motrin or eat the wrong food.  It really does feel like my liver or heart when it happens.

Just a thought, its not always the worst thing happening.  By the way, this does clear up with time.  Good luck..

Now I really getting concerned! Any more input. I have one saying not unusual and one saying it could mean the virus is back. I have only beendone with treatment not even two weeks, do you really think that the virus could make such a comeback in 12 days that my liver would be inflammed? Also it fells higher than usual more like where the ribs meet? Any input?
