ALT/AST after tx

Before and all through 24 weeks of tx my alt/ast were in the 70 - 80 range. I had my last injection on 11/14/08 and have had my alt/ast checked each week.  They have gone down each week with the last 3 weeks in the low 30s and this week alt /ast was 28/31. I'm waiting until 12 weeks post tx to have a pcr. Is there a correlation between alt/ast and relapse?

Its looking good for you I must say.
When I relapsed at first treatment my alt was double as high as they ever has been.
My doc told me most people that relapses do it within first two weeks he even told me 90 % within first 8 days post tx.

I´m gonna get a 4week post tx alt ast test at the 8 of januar and if I get a result like yours I´ll be very pleased.
Of course I´m gonna be nervous as hell before since this is my second attempt.

I'm sorry I meant before tx. My viral load was 2600000. I was detected 50 at 4weeks and und<10 at 5 weeks.

I looked at your old posts and saw that you were UND by week 5. Oh, I so hope that you have made it!

Wow! Are you a geno 1? Please keep me posted on your results. This will be interesting to follow.

What do you mean "before transfer"? Before treatment?

If you had 100 to 110 before treatment and now 28/31, I dare say you can be cautiously optimistic. Do you know your lowest number prior to treatment? Have you ever been this low before? Of course you are only 4 weeks post as of yet, but still... I like your numbers.

What was your baseline viral load? When did you become UND?

Before transfer they were in the 70 to 80 range. I don't remember them ever being higher than 100 to 110. I'm concerned because i had to shorten tx to 24 weeks due to neuropathy complications. I'm geno 1b.

Yes, there is. ALT often sky rockets post tx if you relapse.

A healthy man with a BMI of less than 25 should have an ALT of 30 or below. His AST should be somewhat greater than his ALT. I would say your numbers are looking excellent. There is no 100% correlation however between ALT/AST numbers and SVR/relapse. But I would be VERY plesed with your numbers!

May I ask what your ALT/AST was prior to tx?
