yeah i convinced my friend to go get tested, because if he is negative then i am as well being my only possible risk, but i really thank you for the support. i am a crazy worrier anyways even if the risk is very small, but best of luck to you will on your journey, i am sure you will do great.
If you have been stressed about possibly contracting HCV..your risk was almost nil...however if you need to relieve your fears ..possibly get tested and come back and let us know ....I think you will find you are all good :)
sorry will, i won't post again. I have just been very stressed the past few days, but my heart goes out to everyone here and i will just read through the forums or look for info without posting again. thanks
I also see you were asking all the same quetions over and over on the HIV forum..until one of the good doctors their told you this below this week..there are people here dealing with this disease and it"s treament ...it is not an info.site for the curious

I have nothing more to say. I've said it several times. Rather than repeat myself again, it is time for this thread to end. EWH
from your earlier posts you asked if your risk factors would possibly lead you to contracting HCV...we told you there was no risk..however if you were concerned to get tested....Why are you now asking all sorts of questions about affordability of treatments and can we work and how bad our sides are etc. etc.
I would suggest if you are just interested in the different aspects of HCV you would be best to do some reasearch and ..if you feel you need to be tested perhaps do that.
After shot number 1, which I do Saturday afternoon because I work until 2 and I'm off Sundays, I felt like I had the flu all night, cold sweats, chills and body aches. After that night the rest was just fatigue. I get a little run down about 24 hours after the shot but manage able. Today I felt great all morning I ate lunch at 2 when I took my incevik by three I was worn out, came home took to anvil and went to gym for 45 minutes. I definitely feel better when I keep myself busy. The hard part is making yourself do it. Anytime you have a question just ask. Are you doing the triple therapy?
Still running each morning, although slower, but I'm only at week 2 and I know it will be harder as my HGB drops. I work full time and last time I was on tx for 13 weeks never missed a day. I'm tired, it's to be expected. I can only do one day at a time. If I need neupogin and I likely will, it will kick my fatigue in high gear for a day. But I can get through that too I hope.
and i have no idea about the treatment in canada to be honest
thats great to hear joe, how bad were the sides if you don't mind me asking?
Just wondered if the treatment is free in canada
I did treatment in 2007 seven and they switched me from interferon to infergen about half way through, so my lasted 2years. I worked the whole time, now I'm on triple therapy and I still work a least 50 hours a week in an automotive shop in Florida, so it's hot right now and I still make it to the gym in the evening. So yes there are people that are able to life there life just as they did when they weren't treating. After treatment the first time I was undetectable for a few months and I felt great I was 20 pounds lighter I was off the drugs and felt good after about three days, so your life will be normal after you beat this s---.
Good luck
Joe
if someone does tx and it is sucessful and they attain an svr, can they expect a normal quality of life? What is it like after finishing tx
here's a really good link with all kinds of info for those of us in Canada

Hi - Hopefully several of our Canadian friends will chime in with all sorts of suggestions for you as to what is available.
As far as work, Most do but it isn't easy, you will have to rest and take care of yourself when you are off.
Everyone handles treatment differently so there is no hard and fast rule as to whether or not you will have symptoms and how severe they may or may not be.
I just entered a clinical trial in Vancouver 4 wks ago so the drugs are free ($40,000 worth) and as for work, everyone is different but I am suffering "moderate to severe" sfx from the study drug as well as the interferon & riba. The study doc gave me a letter and I have stopped working now. Luckily I have a union job with sick leave at my local hospital where I work as a pharmacy technician. There are all sorts of other routes you can take here in Canada depending on your age and where you work but pretty sure you can get EI while you are on tx. I had a good link the other day and if I find it I will post it to you. Good luck and hope you go for it.
