Doctors routinely insist that we do get the flu shot while we are on treatment as it is considered a chronic disease with liver damage and we do not need any further complications.

I was on tx for 72 weeks and had the shot twice.  I now get it every year.  Also being vaccinated against pneumonia is a good idea too.

If you have had the shot before you should assume you are fine with it. If you have an allergy to latex or eggs they make a special shot for that type of person.  If you aren't sure you could always ask for that one. The flu shot does NOT cause the flu which many people mistakenly believe it can..........and if you've ever had the real flu you know how horrible it really truly is to be in bed over a week - I can't imagine getting it on treatment (although we should be sort of immune to virus like that taking antivirals it could be possible to get it).

Definitely get it - the flu is worse than treatment!  ;)

My GP said no to the regular flu shot because she said I need to have a reaction and the SOC will mask it. I just ended tx so I'll get the shot in a couple of weeks.

We can take the vaccinations, I just had the regular flu shot.  I had one last year also, while on tx.  Dr. actually recommended it since my ANC was sooooo low.  Don't know about the tamiflu.
