Thanks so much for your advice, my husband caught a cold is very sick, he is my caregiver and he had to drive himself to the doctor. I am too weak, I felt terrible.
Just wanted to thank you

That was very good advice to grab some meds, something similar happened to my husband and it was not good
Thanks for that
Happy Holidays
Dee
Thank you so very much, unfortunately as often happens the caregiver in my home has gotten sick, he has bronchitis and has to have blood work and all kinds of meds. I am doing my best to help him but I am using muscles I have not used in 14 weeks. I was shocked when I had a hard time with a gallon jug of water
Thank you again
I hope you feel better
hugs all around
Dee
PS You are so lucky to have your husband he sounds like a very intelligent man and caring man.......treasure him
You need the procrit why can't you get it. If you haven't already started a post question please do someone on here may be able to help you. I'm afraid you may get worse and I wouldn't want to have you deal with the hospital system for a transfusion.....love streamer
Hi, so sorry I never answered your question, I have not had the flu, I can not get any rescue drugs for my 9.7 HGB
We are not celebrating Xmas this year. As y Aunt said, it is one Xmas out of 55
Thank you
Dee
Hello, I am so sorry for what you went through. What a nightmare!
When I thought I was having a stroke Sunday night, could not talk or breath right I told my husband I wanted to go to ER, he said lets check BP and pulse. Yes, BP was high but not as high as yours and pulse was 77
He looked at me and said you are having a pnic attack, if you go to ER this is all they will do.
For you though, with the headache I believe you did the right thing, what if it had been an aneurysm I believe that there are going to be problems with Incivek that hospital know nothing about so they can just treat our symptoms. Whay do these things happen on the weekend? lol
I am sincerely happy that you are ok and so sorry for your paind
Dee
I tpld my doctor it felt like the flu with cough fever stomachache. The headache was like nothing I have ever had before. He said my platelets dropped and to to the ER for and MRI.. The nightmare starts a 6am. Only a cat scan with imitrex. Ferver of 104 and no one offered me anything until I asked. Head OK had to stay for can scan with contrast and mRI both were turned not approved until 8 pm. The took blood work but didn't say what it was. I guess the doctor gets the report. Never again. Send me home as sice as I came in withi only a cat scan.Talk to a patient advocate next day and she asked me if I had may have a pshysicatric disorders.never again and my doctor still will not return a call.because it the weekend and he doesn't work weekends
google procrit- seems i saw a possible FDA withdrawal and some lawsuits about it?
hope you are better by now?
are you sure its not something else..or a combo??? i can't believe how in the later weeks the interferon got to me...stomach pains head pains then eye pains....thats when i did something about it...they say it was the interferon but who knows?? could have been the riba..or procrit..combining with each other...i know later in tx i could feel the drugs at different times then in the beginning...everything changed...the interferon seemed to hit me for 3 days starting on the second day..or day and a half....with fevers and all..i have to wonder what all your doses are these days...this may need to be look at....your almost 24 weeks now!!! good luck...billy
In my 9th or 10 week of Inc tx, I had one heck of a bad headache, it felt like my head was going to pop clean off and I cried all night and finally ended up going to the ER. I had never had a migraine or headache that bad and Ive lived with migraines most of my life. My Blood pressure was 198/98 at the time, but the doctor said that usually B/P doesnt really effect your head. I did have some nausea, and diarrhea , and my sinus's were swollen. When I went I took all my bottles of meds with me and all the information Peg, INC, & Riba, all the phone numbers to my GI , which also practices at that hospital. The ER Doctor and staff was very nice and I explained the Chemo and HCV protocol, as most doctors are not really versed on that particular medication. He called my GI and they went from there. He ran a panel of lab work and chest ex rays. They ended up giving me a blood pressure medication and a prescription for my sinus's (antibiotic azithromyicin) which worked very very fast. By the time I left the ER my BP was down and headache was gone. ER Doc said I was a little dehydrated and felt it was a combination of chemo sx along with sinus infection. He said my BP was also just a sx of being ill. All better now. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't of waited 8 hours or more to have gone to the ER, I would do it immediately, just take all your meds with you. Blessing and Good Thoughts Carrie
I agree you should visit ER. On your way out the door, be sure to grab several days of meds including any injectables. Hospitals don’t usually stock HCV treatment drugs, and you just might not be discharged as fast as you might think.
Let us know what you find out, and good luck-
Bill
I had strange symptoms after my Procrit shot too...the day after I took my first dose I had fever, chills. My whole body felt swollen, my eyes burned. I didn't even recognize my hands they were so swollen-couldn't see my knuckles..how weird! My NP couldn't figure it out. I know it helped when I drank TONS of water. Drink as much as you can. It took about 2 doses of Procrit for me to feel better and have more energy. Hang in there-it will get better... take care!
I suggest go to the ER if it is that severe. It might not be the Procrit. Could be something else that needs checking out.
NO vomiting just stomach pain and the doctor won't call back. The back of the head stop it just the front of the head now. I can't stop crying I"m so scared. Why always on a weekend?????
Vomiting is a side effect of Procrit, but the severe headache, you should probably call the doctor on call in your hepatologist's office.
