Well hopefully just stomache flu, it has been going around. But treatment does casue these issues as well. I also drink a gallon of water a day, and more on shot day. I also supplemented my water with coconut water (not milk) on shot day; has lots of potassium, and there are some that are flavored. I don't like sport drinks such as gatorade and such because they have so much sugar or sugar substitutes. Applesauce and banannas is good as well for adding some electrolytes back. And yes you can take acidophilus with your treatment. I have been drinking Kefir and eating greek yogurt for years, I opted to continue that rather than supplements, my Dr. oked that I continue. I was taking Incivek, which is incredibly notorius for loose stools, I never had an issue. Try to watch your diet and get as much fiber as possible, but ease into it if you aren't used to it.
Yes, you can take acidophlus and probiotics while on tx.
I asked the NP at the liver clinic while on tx.
Any liquid is mostly water, that's what makes it a liquid.
Do what you must but keep hydrated.
You can always add lemon, lime or mint to water to make it taste better.
Sounds like your drinking the right amount then, I found using some flavoring for my water helped when i grew tired of the water, yes things like gatorade and powerade is also ok..... Good luck with your treatment, things do get better.
My weight is 210. I know, it is alot but my dr. keeps pressing me to drink more. Is there something other than water that will still hydrate? Any juice? Gatorade? I'm new to all of this so any help is welcome.
I can take the acidophilus with the Ribo/Victrelis/ Peg?
Well, I'm in California, and both my children have the 24 hour flu, one two days ago, vomiting and diarrhea, and the younger one today, but he just has diarrhea.
Sometimes stomach flu goes around, in The Spring. I am on Victrelis (15th shot today, and havent had a loose bowel movement, since I began, pretty much the opposite.
When I have had diarrhea in the past (which I HATE) I put myself on the BRAT diet, which is Bananas, (white)Rice, applesauce, and (dry white) Toast.
I avoid dairy and animal products, and anything greasy, until I have a normal movement. Then I replenish my intestinal tract with acidophilus pills, I get the chewable ones, which taste good, also.
Sometimes a 7-up (or an Italian soda) works better then plain water, which tends to exacerbate it, but that would only be on a temporary basis, of course. Hope ya feel better soon~
My NP said interferon can cause digestion problems.
Be aware of what you eat, and try to keep your diet balanced.
At different time Victrelis caused me diarrhea, Imodium. worked when needed.........Also don't know your weight but over a gallon of water is alot.
