Diphenhydramine will mess up your prostate long before it effects your liver. If zolpidem by itself doesn't work, you could try adding melatonin.

Benedryl doesnt make me sleepy but it helps my allergies.  I take Ambien to sleep and benedryl so I dont sneeze.  But I am "wired up" differently than most ppl.  diphenhydramine is not only the same as Benedryl, its also the main ingredient in most over the counter sleep meds.  So it is a bad idea for most ppl to combine them.

Ah for some reason I thought it was zoloft I guess the names are so close.
I can't see why anyone would take ambien AND benedryl together that'd be a real double whammy.

p.s. diphenhydramine = Benadryl and zolpidem = ambien

I took Paxill and Ambien and it worked just fine.  It didn't do anything really that I am aware of to my liver but did enable me to remain on treatment.

If you have a sleep need, they both are for that purpose. I'd try one and then the other before trying them both together.  For me, the ambien (zolpidem) works just fine although it does not give me long sleep time. It's not like it knocks me out for 8 hours.
