hi and welcome,

as mentioned your husband has symptoms of severe liver disease. many times these symptoms can be treated.

make sure he is eating a LOW salt, fat & sugar diet.

He should be seen at this point by a liver specilist called a Hepatologist

Best of luck to your husband and you

Hi Linda,

You've come to a good place for info. We're not doctors, but many of us have (or have been cured of) Hepatitis C.

The symptoms you mention can all certainly be signs of liver disease, but the good news is - the liver is a tough little soldier. With proper treatment, this disease can be cured in a substantial number of cases, and the liver is able to heal itself up pretty well.

Lots of people live their normal life span with Hepatitis C. So don't give up! There are MANY MANY reasons to be hopeful.

I'm not sure what a stomach tap is, but, your husband needs to see a liver specialist for his hepatitis C. Your primary doctor should be able to get him referred to this specialist.

Other folks will be posting with more information soon. Hang in there!
