Welcome to the forum! I wish I had found it prior to starting treatment. I am not on the redipen, but pegasys. I understand the redipen is easy to use. The doctor's office will instruct you on use, so don't worry about that. Everyone pretty much starts out on max doseage. Make sure they will prescribe rescue drugs like procrit/neupogen if you need them.
If you don't mind, post your stats, like your age, sex, genotype, viral load, and biopsy results. Be sure to get copies of all your labs. More will come post and welcome you.
I will get the rest of my stats on the next visit. I am 30 year old male. I believe my geno type is 1. He said that it's the one that is the hardest to get rid of. That's my luck though. I will get the other info posted soon. I believe i contracted this in the past two years when I was living with an uncle that had it. I had went through back surgery and he was handicap so we spent a lot of time around each other since we both had to sit around the house. He wasn't the cleanest person in the world because he is pretty sick with other problems. I had been tested for everything a few years before in a routine checkup and everything was good. Had to visit the ER due to my back and thats when they told me somethinng was going on with my liver. I have no pain or symptoms at all so far from the hep c so it was a shock to me. I have never used drugs or had a blood transfusion so I really have no idea how i got it. More to come soon. Thanks for the warm welcome. I
Know what you mean there. I don't even try anymore. Don't be over doing it girl. Take care
Your right, there have been to many posts lately. There seems to be no limit to the threads that can be opened. The first few today are already buried.

Heck he's been checking out them hydrants, out sniffing, nose to the ground and them paws a moving. Bet he's even been wagging his tail. Just watch that paw don't swell. You seem to get a little wild at home in fl.
Your right, I'm wild now that I'm back for good in FL and no more tx! Just wish I would start to feel better, I know it takes time but it's like I want it yesterday. LOL I even have about 4 or 5 shots of procrit I brought home with me, that should get my blood pumping.
Do you guys have any idea when I'll start to feel better post tx?
Beagle
Of course me and the Can Man aren't there yet! I understand most folks feel better within a couple of weeks. Of course, being the special beagle that you are, you are probably going to get that hemoglobin back up a little more to feel like the handsome dog that you are!
I would think once your hgb starts going back up. I bet within a couple weeks you'll be feeling alot better. Now remember i'm not a vet. But them beagles bounce back pretty quick.
Can do said...... He's not a Vet...LOL LOL I'm still laughing on that one, I think I woke the wife up. ;)
Your right, I probably will feel better in a couple of weeks.

How are you doing with work? I remember you were having a rough time a few weeks ago.
Beagle
Getting slower, hgb down to 11 as of last week, Not thinking as clear as before. Ended up going to the same place twice in the same day a few times. So i think vacation time is not to far off.
I use the redipen, piece of cake. Only problem is you are going to freak when you think you've squirted your dose out on the floor! You snap them together, sit a few minutes, then put the needle on, and their must be pressure, because it either drops two or three BIG drops out of the needle, or it has even shot out in the air. It does not hurt, practically painless. Let it sit out for 45 minutes or so to come to room temperature... don't hit the midline between navel and pubis, it hurts!!
best of luck..
Heres a site about redipen and a video. I'm on the redipen max. 150ul. Welcome and good luck.

I like the old fashion vials, because I squeeze all the juice out, which comes out to more than the standard. after that, the prefilled syringes of Pegasys was more than a piece of cake. A friend recently had a scare about improper dosing with the redipen, and I would rather be able to see what I am injecting and whether it is empty afterwards. the redipen does not seem to allow you to view within. am i right?
While the redipen is easy, you do lose a small amount through the top. Plus there is no guarantee you get it all. Had a problem myself. My hepo checked a few redipens and called someone with schering-plough. They said it would not be enough to worry about. (yeah right) But his lab did find different amounts after trying some to see. He also said it was not that much to be worried about. ( Again yeah right)
enough to make you want to kill! would try Mother theresa's patience even!
i don't know what comfort to offer, except I pray it does not make a big difference as they said.
btw, ms tator has flown the coop to Alaska again, but will reside in the west coast soon. you are not on that side are you?
Nope mid-west here, Glad to here tators ok though. She heads all over the place. LOL.... And yes you want it all. Some times they were hard to dial to the .05 and they said it COULD strip it. Which would cause a lost. A few times the dial would push right in during the shot. And you should have a little pressure while pushing it. Like i said they/he said not that much would be lost. Would they swear to that NOPE. Just don't worry. Easy for them to say when their not the one thats a geno1 stage 4.
From the research I have done on the Redipen they have a little extra in those pens to compensate for the little bit that may drip out. I'm sure they noticed that feature when they were testing it. They even mention that very thing on the video and on the website. I'm not to worried about being able to see it or anything like that but thanks for the comments.
See, I told you they would come to welcome you! There are lots of us genotype 1's right here.
Big Wave to the Can Man! I have been missing you! We just aren't posting at the same times!
Fishdoc, I thought about you the other night watching the opening of the big aquarium in Spain. It was a documentary about building it, stocking it, and opening it to the public - cool stuff!
Hi gal, been cruising. Must be missing you though.:)
Me too! I keep missing you guys. Wow, you guys move faster then those silly wabbits.............. ;)
Beagle
I am just working a lot of hours and some nights I just can't make myself look at the computer any more!!!!! I try to catch up, but all these threads drive me nuts - I know I miss good stuff. Just hanging in there, not many more weeks to go! ;o)
Welcome back to hurricane world!!! I sure loved that nice breeze and cool temps we got from the hurricane here, but it wasn't as nice in Florida. I am so glad you are done, I posted somewhere below that you would be circling those hydrants in no time, leaving the famous two drops up and down the block!
That's the lowest I can remember your HGB has been. With this brain fog I mix things up and forget a lot of things. When I got home Monday, I forgot where the silverware, etc was. Wife's afraid to let me leave the house as I may forget where I live. On the other hand that may be a blessing.
Are you going to take procrit?
