tongue

Last time I took treatment about half way through my tongue got these little bumps on it an it wasn't pleasant Now after just a week and a half the same bumps are on my tongue, hurts, Burns so bad when I eat. I remember this from last time because I thought to myself people don't even realize what they have until they don't have it. I know sounds weird. Does anyone else have this problem? If so what r u doing for it?

That does not sound like OLP  that sounds more like what nygirl is  talking about   treatment induced canker type sores...very common...the magic mouthwash usually helps

Ok... I only have them on my tongue, not gums or inside of cheeks and they're white and look like small loose pieces of flappy skin... very small though, i'm not really sure how else to explain it.... what does that sound like?

this is not tongue ulcers,,OLP is entirely different...    usually on the gums and inside of the cheeks..it is seen in about 10  -16% of people with HCV....and can sometimes get worse with treatment....mine has returned since treating....

Tongue ulcers Dr. J said they were caused by interferon and sometimes patients got them so bad they had to discontinue treatment.  He said when I went off the inf they would go away and they did, probably about 10 days later so I've always assumed he was correct since he said as soon as the peg was out of my system they would go away too and they did.

It was such a happy happy day, i ate everything in sight for weeks :(

It is caused by the interferon - two weeks after you stop the interferon it will be gone for good.

That is what Dr. Jacobson told me and he was 100% right (as you would expect him to be!)
