If it were possible to reinfect yourself with YOUR own virus changing toothbrushes and razors frequently would be part of the treatment protocol and it is not. There is no mention of it on any of the medication prescribing guidelines and if it were possible it would be advised by the top hepatologists around the world.
This type of chatter about reinfection from our own hygiene articles is discussed occasionally primarily because no one wants to contract hepc again once they've cleared the virus, hence the heightened sense of precaution, however, the bottom line is you can't reinfect yourself with your own virus. Hepc has been studied for many years now and if reinfection was possible in that manner all persons who undergo treatment would be advised to discard razors and toothbrushes regularly, perhaps even daily because who knows when one actually becomes UND.
Hey Patches!
Good to see you back here. I was going through my friend list and wondered how you are doing. Glad you are UND!!!
I know what you mean about coming off the AD's. While I was on them, they kinda seemed to work, but coming off of them was horrendous! Like electric shocks going through me and a feeling that I can only describe as "out-of-sorts" because I couldn't put it into words if I tried. What I found that worked was a Xanax when things got too bad.
I will NEVER take an SSRI again although for some people they seem to work.
I am hypertensive myself and take 10-mg of Lisinopril once a day (along with Propranolol (80-mg 2x/day for varices) and it brought me right down without side effects. With all the othersx's I have, that is a good thing!
I think like OH sez, you are fine, so no worries!
Chris
You have been undetected for a long time. Hep C can live up to 4 days outside the body but if you reinfected yourself you would not have continued to be undetected.
Relax, there is no need to worry.
Good luck.
