Odd question

I will start off by saying I have terrible anxiety and OCD which probably makes this situation worse. I work at a pharmacy and a patient came in with a broken jaw came in and as I was leaving work I didn't notice until after that I stepped in blood and saliva that was on the ground i dont know whether this person has anything or not. So when I got in my car I took off my one shoe because I can't drive in them as I got home I may or may not have hit my shoe on my steering wheel. So is there any chance that the blood on my shoe that was dry by the way, can it transfer anything to my steering wheel then onto my hands where I could possibly scratch myself.

Yes, Flyinlynn answered you well. She is so right about you checking into getting some help with your anxiety and OCD issues. That must be a very hard way to live every day. There are so many what ifs in life and life is so short anyway, that it is a shame to waste it worrying over things you have no control over. You have a great career and you can overcome needless worry, you have to be a very smart person to be a pharmacist. Good Luck to you!

Thank you so much you've eased my mind greatly. It's pretty much what everyone said to me but I had to hear from someone who I didn't think was trying to make me feel better. I do get tested often because like I said I am very nervous. Thanks again and good luck

Hi

Well my personal thought is your chances are better to be struck by lightning or win the lottery but that being said there is a minutely tiny chance bodering on nonexistant but not 0.000000000000% chance that it could happen although exceedingly unlikely.

Here is a link to the CDC web page "Hepatitis C FAQs for the Public"
http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/c/cfaq.htm#cFAQ31

Which along with other things lists "How is Hepatitis C spread?" as a topic.

If you are concerned get tested if it would ease your mind. With the recently released medicines even if by some stroke of amazingly bad luck you did test positive from this incident you could get treated and most likely be cured.

Maybe you should discuss your anxiety and OCD issues with a counselor or other mental health professional.

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.

Good luck
Lynn
