You will definitely notice a difference in how you feel if you DON"T drink enough water, I can promise you that. Drink as much as you can tolerate and then another two glasses:)
Very best of luck to you.
Don't cut down on your water. Get as much in you as possible, and then a drink more more. Drink lots. I played around with this during my 52 week tx time. Sometimes I felt as though I couldn't get another drink down me. When I didn't drink as much that really was the times that I didn't feel well. I've heard it time and time again. Drink lots !!

I had recurrent bladder infections before and during TX, I was told by the NP that the meds affect any mucosal lining in the body, so expect some problems in any area that has a lining(stomach, intestines, upper respiratory, etc.) we do seem to heal slowly on Tx. I had to take different antibiotics for the UTIs. Maybe they should do a new culture to make sure the antibiotic is working? it might be another bug infecting you that is resistant to many antibiotics. They cultured my urine and it had two different organisms infecting me. ask for a new culture.
dam thats funny, i do shot 7 this fri, iam 11milion ib and a industrial machine repair man,
Hey, I'm right behind you guys.. I am on 3/48..This friday will be shot 4.. My sx's come in little stages too. Like spells. Slight anxiety/panic attacks, and uneasiness.. Nothing bad at all. I am drinking tons of water myself, and my skin and hair are still very dry. As far as other meds, I'm also on effexor, 75mg a day.. I go to my Dr this friday to talk about my week 2 labs..
Hi all! I had a really tough time with shot 1, but things have gotten progressively better (still in bed for about 12 hours after). My question is about other illness and correlation with treatment. Hope you guys don't mind my jumping into this post. I seem to be unable to shake a strep infection. It started in throat and now all upper respiratory is involved. Tried a couple of antibiotics and going back to the doc today for the 3rd! time. Could it be that my body is unable to fight other types of infection? About the water... I find that if I don't suck down water all day, I get headaches and I start feeling dizzy. The more water, the better!
There is no correlation between bad side effects and the meds working! A common misconception, I think!
I would definately stick with as much water as possible. It won't affect tx to drink a lot, it will only help you. I drank sooo much. I also didn't have sx's for the first few months. Glad your doing well!. LL
Hellow genedog. You and I are about @ the same mark. I just did 6/48 last friday. My sx's seem to be mainly flu-like and slowly build/come and go, usually the worst in the late afternoon thru the night. So far the work days (as fleet mechanic) aren't to bad. blood work has been showing wbc on its way down. One cool thing is lft #'s are in normal range for the first time in 15 or more years. I hope this is a good sign. Only idea if wbc keeps dropping was to lower pegasys dose to 135mcg for a while. Dr says this dosn't lower svr odds. I'm not so sure. I'm a 1b w/high starting vl - 12.5 million. I sleep alot more than I had before tx so I think that helps me and as far as water I try to drink as much as I can. we'er getting close to the 12 week pcr and I cant help but think about it. The other rx's I'm on are ambien and effexor. Let me know how your doing.
wrench.
Whatever you have been drinking so far,,,I would keep up as you are doing good and having minimum sides. By cutting back on water,,,you will probably experience more sides due to the drying out that the meds do.
You definitely don't want to cut down on your water intake. The meds are very dehydrating and that in itself will cause some problems if you let it. Water will not reduce the effectiveness of the interferon and is really important in reducing the sides. I'm glad you're having a smooth ride. Keep up the good work! Water ~ Water ~ Water
