First biopsy Complete - Now where's my cookie?

Hey All.  Just wanted to fill you in.  Had my first liver biopsy today.  Slept like crap last night kind of nervous but guess that was expected.  Showed up at 8am and they didn't take me back until 9am, then took blood for blood tests to make sure clotting would not be an issue.  They had 2 other people getting the same procedure so it definitely took a while to get to me.  They should really give you a Xanax while you're waiting 2 hours to calm you down.  That was the worst part.  Sitting there waiting will make you think about it and get nervous no doubt.  Once they got around to me and the Dr talked to me, we were off.  Started with some Versed and Fentonal in the IV.  Not too shabby.  Added some Adavan and things started happening.  Whole process was about 5-8 mins of cleaning me up and doing what they do.  Took 2 liver slices and then put me on my side for another 1.5-2.5 hours.  Felt a little discomfort in my shoulder but tried to just go to sleep.  Slept some, woke up to a hospital serving of pasta and cake and my buddy picked me up to go home.  Got home around 3pm and just been watching TV and drinking coffee and water with a few snacks.  Actually all the pain has gne away, which wasn't much to begin with.  Have another friend staying over with me tonight just for safety and fun.  So that was it.  All in all, I'm very happy I did it and hope this will help in our decision to move forward with SOC or a study with Telap and VX222 or wait till next year.  Still lots to think about but hope this puts others at ease who have to go through it.  And with that, I say good day.  Off to nappy land for me soon.  Thanks again to all my Hep friends!

I wish all I needed was a biopsy to get rid of this virus, I do a bunch rather then the treatment currently offered.

Glad to shed some light on the procedure.  Just to finish off the day, I didn't nap but kinda stayed lazily around the house watching TV, playing video games, and reading.  No pain all day since the minor shoulder discomfort in the hospital right after the procedure.  So no need for any pain meds all day.  Other than being tired now that it's 1130pm, I feel really good.  And I'm happy I got it done and look forward to the results.  For anyone finding out they have this disease, do not fear the liver biopsy.  I did, but only gave myself about 6 months to postpone it before forcing myself to get it.  You will also feel better after you get it done and realize it's a wasted work day and that's about it.  No big deal!

I am happy that it went smoothly for you. Now the hard part - waiting for results.
I always hate waiting for results far more than undergoing any procedure.
I hope your biopsy results are good.
