sofusbuvir ledipasvir week 4 <15

Hi I am in a 12 trial sofusbuvir ledipasvir  just updating people who were interested in my progress . I am pretty discouraged and worried today as I found out at
week 4 I am still <15 detected , what does that exactly meaning , slightly right ?
I thought pretty much everybody on this combo is clear by week 4 , does this mean I have a lower chance to svr cure ?
As I have cirrhosis and have failed telaprevir interferon ribavirin , if does not work there is nothing else for me to try .
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated .
Thank you

You started with a 3 mil viral load which is 4 times the max range. Nevertheless, gt1a cirrhotics (F-4) and those with some degree of liver scarring are very difficult to cure which is why GS9451 (Vedroprivir) was added to the Sofosbuvir/Ledipasvir cocktail in some of the earlier clinical trials. This tri-combo showed some very promising results across the board. It appears to be the surest way to kill this genotype. The Sof/Led combo alone seems to have about as much effect as the Sof/Sim (Olysio) combo. Its still early in the game for you however, and so wait for the next lab.

appreciate responses I just want as we all do for this to be over and to be cured of this . I need to wait until week 8 for next test . I asked for another test to be done but was told as my blood work is going in the right direction another test at this time is not necessary

That news feed is actually Fierce BioTech.  I is under Fiercebiotech.com.

Sorry I got the name wrong the first time....obviously my memory is no better for company names than it is for human names..  lol

I understand you being concerned but you need to focus on the positive. In 4 short weeks, you went from a viral load of 3,000,000 to a result of <15.  That is outstanding.
That said, there is no guarantee that you won't relapse after EOT once you do go UND.  But even if you do relapse, that doesn't mean you won't get to SVR one day soon. There are other treatments in the pipeline IF it comes to that. Either way your liver is finally getting a break.
Hang in there. Think positive. We are all rooting for you. You have no idea how much!

Hi simon . Just went through similar thing today . 4 week checkup labs actually should VL less than 43 . So yours is better than mine . I however am on a different treatment peg RIBA an sovaldi also cirrhotic . My Doctor said it has no bearing on final outcome . Let's just keep keeping on

S:  Do NOT get discouraged!  If these drugs are like what we are taking now, not being UND at wk 4 is not an indication that you will not reach SVR.  I was the same and @ my next Labs was <15 UND.

Surely they would have pulled you from the trial if the 4 wk HAD to indicate UND.

The good news is I just read a news release on FierceMedTech ( I am not at all sure I have that name correct, but will look it up and let you know), which said that Wednesday Europe approved daclatiasvir  and sofosbuvir in combination, which was showing 100% SVR for hard to treat heppers - those like me with Gt3, those who had failed other protocols, and cirrhotics.  Ddaclatasvir is up for FDA approval in the U S in November.

Hang in there - keep doing your trial protocol correctly and keep us informed.  Let us know if your next lab is UND - BTW, dropping to <15 Detected is STILL great improvement.  Please don't lose the faith and (my catch phrase) keep on keeping on!  Pat : -)
