If the specialist says my viral load is low, will I still require treatment ?

Dear Printze, I think that you need to do some research or get a new doctor.  Right now my viral load is 350K which isn't too bad (in 2008 it was 7M), my liver enzymes both at 21 are lower than they have been ins 25 years.  My biopsy says I have cirrhosis.
You need to obtain all of your information so that you can make an educated decision.
Most important is the biopsy so you can see what you have to work with.
Wishing you the best

My viral load was 72, yes 72, with no liver damage at all and my doctor thought because of that, I was in the best and healthiest condition to eradicate it. So we did!! I will know for sure in 6 months but so far I have been UND since week 2.  It is a personal choice and I guess it depends on your circumstances physically as well as emotionally, family, job etc.

Good luck

I had low viral load but advanced stage liver damage..............you need to biopsy to find out if you 'need' to treat now or if you have time to wait a few years.

VL also changes, it's a virus it's job is to multiply.

I posted to you  on your other thread...if you can try to ask your questions on the one thread as it is easier for us to see rather than jumping around..

Viral load is really not an indicator of  the need for treatment..it has to do more with the amount of liver damage .and that is ascertained usually by a biopsy.
