Anyone new or just starting ~ please read!!

I just wanted to Welcome anyone new or just starting TX.  You have found a wonderful site, with some great people here.  You will find alot of information here.

Some have treated once and achieved SVR!
others have treated more than once and have achieved SVR... some treat for 48 weeks, others 72...

There is good information here.  There are good people here.

We all have had differnent sides.  Some are mild other not so....  Do not think that if you read a side, that you will necesarlliy get that one.
Sometimes one of us is having a bad day,  and the others here will cheer us on, let us whine, and then tell us to buck and get it done.....

Read the positive posts as well  They will help you when you are feeling your worst.  Start threads with a joke of the day, or a funny thing that happened while TX... Although you may feel your worst, laughter does help us through it.

I have learned so much here.  Ask questions, even if your embarssed...I could not even read my blood work when I started, but i would post it and the my friends here would help me out.    Listen to your doctors, but also be an ADVOCATE for yourself!!!  My doc would have stopped my Tx at week 16 if i hadn't insisted on staying in it.

Get advise for the sides you do have;  people here have dealt with it and sometimes, it just a remedy that works...Get to know people!!!

Others here can say all of this much better than I can..and i am sure they will add....

You have found a good site....stick around!!!

peace

Lapis,  The forum keep me going, no one could understand what we are going through, no matter how much they read about....and its not that our loved ones arent trying, they just dont get it!!!  I had good weeks and bad weeks, If i didnt feel like being social i declined...Sometimes i had to just bite the bullet and push myself to do something, and that did help!

Keep posting!!!!

I couldn't agree more, Rita.  I've only been posting over the past weekend, and I've had such a better weekend!  People understand how I'm feeling!!!  I'm in week 4 of tx and was feeling pretty isolated and alone.  Don't want to be a whiner but don't have many other interests these days.  Have withdrawn from social obligations because I just don't freaking feel like being social  So much of my thought is about the tx, and the sides keep me pretty focused on my body.  Yesterday I actually felt good enough to take a walk and make dinner!  Best day I've had in a while!

The support here is awesome!  I am so grateful, and glad I found this site.

I'd like to say welcome to the forum too.  Like you, I'm here because my husband has hep c, and though he's not in a support group either, I know he and I have both benefitted from this forum.  You are definitely not alone!  There are a number of people here who are spouses, siblings, parents, etc... it's a great place for information and support.  I wish you and your husband the best.

Thank you for making me feel welcome. My husband is suffering with hep c but doesn't want to join any support groups. I think it would be good for him to know hes not alone. But at least I don't feel alone now.  Ruth590
