Can I work during treatment

Newly diagnosed.
Don't know yet what geno type I have.
Have had liver biopsy.
Will get geno type and biopsy results on 11/1/07.
I've been reading post here for a week or two, and I've not seen a lot of comments about ones ability to work while under a combination RX treatment.  My job is not stressful, or physical, but I am on my feet a lot.
What is the average time for treatment if I have the worse kind of geno type that can be treated with the combination RX treatment?
What is the average of people being able to go to work for all of the treatment time or part of it, working, full time, part time?
Thanks for any insite, George

You were given very good advice. I was able to work all 3 years of tx, however, I did miss work from time to ime. However, my boss worked with me, and at times I came in late, or left early. I wish you much success.

Very hyper, very active, very non-lazy GOTTA be productive type person. Going into just week 5.....work (all physical and paperwork both) is getting very hard:{  I spend a LOT of time in bed now and I have already had to cut back to half. I quickly found it is, at times, just not possible and suffer much when I push it. And as many here taught me, what I am using up for things that can wait or need to be put 2nd, 3rd......I am using up the strength, immune, energy I NEED to fight this.
Plan on slowing down.

Welcome to a great forum. You will get lots of information and support here.

Combo therapy for genotype 1 is usually 48 weeks at this time. I did 51 weeks. That's 9 months of tx after your viral load is undetectable.

Some people go on temporary disability. I worked for 33 weeks at an office job 9 hrs. a day and got every other Fri. off. Then I retired. But I'm 65.

Everyone's situation is different. Their health, liver condition, age, etc. But don't forget everyone has a different type of work. The N.P. told me office work is probably O.K. but not lifting, construction and stuff like that. There are really no hard and fast rules. Each case has to be evaluated on an individual basis.

The others are right. It's an individual thing. Some are too sick to work, or they work with diminished capacities. I fell into the working zombie category. I took a job with less hours, but I had to drive an hour and a half each way. I amazed that I thought the driving part would be easier than working....
I did have one accident, during a rainstorm I hydroplaned and ended up along some farm road fence, stuck in the mud, facing the wrong direction. It was pouring down rain, but some kind soul helped get me back on the road.  I was soaking wet and covered with mud when I got back into the X-Terra.
Oh good times, good times:)
My work was physical by the way, I provide physical therapy in long term care. I didn't get as sick as some people here have so I was very fortunate.
Good luck, welcome to the community.

George, it can go either way. Totally individual responses to treatment
Some can work
Some cannot
Please come back with your info when you get it and keep posting.

People respond to the meds differently.  First, you don't yet know if treatment is advisable for you at this time.  I've done the combo treatment twice in the last 2 1/2 years or.  In total may have missed 5-6 days.  My work is not physical but is very stressful.  Most days I was able to answer the bell, the problem was the mental acuity that was degraded.  I felt like an idiot a lot of the time, simple concepts escaped me and the volume of information that should have been easily recalled hid in many places.  It was like I was battling two virus, the C type and the kind that affected me like a virus-prone computer.  But, first things first, find out what the deal is with all the diagnostic stuff.
