Almost time to celebrate.
Cheers!

A year and a half after transplant and doing great. All blood work perfect. Waiting until my final viral load test on the 16th. That will have been three months after finishing 6 month of Harvoni. As far as clinical reports have stated, If I'm still undetectable, I'm cured. Waiting to celebrate...
As you know we would welcome your friend with open arms. I imagine the answer to your question would depend upon how much liver damage has occurred. The 1st thing to address is getting rid of the virus. With today's new meds getting treated and cured will hopefully halt further destruction of her liver.
Now would be a good time to get on the road to healthy living. Eating right, exercising, and of course no alcohol. The sooner the virus is cleared the less damage the liver will experience. Personally I would be running to find a good Hepapologist and finally free myself of that burden.
There has not been good documentation to support reversal of Cirrhosis once cured of Hep C. All we really have to go on are testaments of others that have seen there liver improve after SVR. It really comes down to I think whether or not it's a case of Decompensated or not. If decomp, it probably not likely but who knows as I've seen some that claim they have. If Compensated and early, yes I do believe it will reverse but the liver will never go back to "normal". Have seen it go down a stage or 2 but with that you still have to remain faithful to a healthy lifestyle.
Hope your doing well Magnum and living life!
