Hey Mag, hope you are doing well!
That was a good one, too funny! I needed to laugh today
Take care

I feel he should be put in an insane asylum for a minimum of 20 years, where he should be forced to room with someone who is crocheting something that isn't there... He should have some interesting conversations with that person...
Magnum
Obviously nothing near like this.
I had my GP run a ton of test *didnt do test for some time* and eventually had an ultra-sound on the thyroid. Results came back with a slight enlargement from the last test - large enough for a possible biopsy!
An Endo appt was made... not many around this small town and the ones I had met were horrible! An early morn appt made it even worse! I did a lot of research so had a few questions. Unfortunately this doc had a heavy accent. Usually not a problem for me as I spent 10 years in Tokyo as an English Conversation teacher plus both my grandparents were from eastern Europe BUT this doc from eastern Europe was really heavy!
It all started out bad when I asked if it was OK to record our conversation since all this was new to me. Answer: NO! NO! NO RECORDINGS!!! Um, ok.
I really couldn't understand her and she kept repeating the same thing when I asked her what she meant. UGH!
So I had the biopsy done at a major hospital, no problems. I got the results from the hospital records dept and found out that 97% no cancer... I then waited for the docs office to call me about the results.
I waited and waited and waited. I called them and was promised the doc would call me that late afternoon or the next day. No call back. I called Monday and was told that the doc was in Europe and had left her notes for me. So the first person had lied saying the doc would call me back!
The notes that the doc left said that I could have cancer as the test results were unclear!!! So this doc was using the 3% results to scare me NOT knowing that I had the results in my hand!
I reported her/her staff for lying and misinforming me/trying to scare me, etc. The report that was generated was comical. They lied to the investigators but it was such a ridiculous story that anyone could see thru it - one would have to want to believe the doc and not the patient!
Of course I fired her and now have to find someone in the big city... I really hate specialist.
That is shameful! I had a doctor convince me that only a level 2 trial was my only hope. I was very naive and thought doctors had our best interest in mind. Until his receptionist became the trial coordinator. A few people were cured, I just got very I'll, lost my job, etc. I think at one time he was a good doctor but when I met him he was a trial doctor acting like a caring doctor. My primary was horrified. Live and learn. I am sure he made money off of me

Well he is in prison now right where his sorry butt should be.
Shameful!
This was in Michigan, not florida
If you suspect your Treatment Doctor of fraud, you could have your labs redone, with your Primary Care Physician, for a second opinion, I suppose?
I dont understand how a Doctor could benefit financially from Hep C Treatments, as the medicine is mainly what is so expensive, and we usually have a Specialty Pharmacy deliver the meds directly to our house, where we inject ourselves with the meds, which we keep safe and sound, in our fridge and cupboard. It is basically a "do it yourself (DIY) Treatment", except when your blood is drawn, and then taken to the lab. But again, you could side-step your Dr, and get your lab results directly from yr lab, on-line.
I can see fraud taking place easier from say...someone selling their Treatment drugs on the Black Market.
