GGT is decreasing but ALT & AST are slightly increasing.

Hi all,

it all started around 4 months ago with weird symptoms like vomiting, diarehia, all sorts of stomach upsets, etc... I've never been stressed/anxious like that ever in my whole life.

I was overseas, I took TONS of medications from various drs that I seen.

Done H pylori test, came back positive, took triple therapy & cleared it. done upper endoscopy, found antral gastritis & dr told me to take nexium as I have GERD. still didn't feel well.

Done liver function & blood count tests 1st of April:

Albumin: 44 (normal 26 -42)
GGT: 126 (normal 1 - 60)
AST: 35 (Normal 0-42)- Normal
ALT: 34 (Normal 0-45) - Normal
Eosinophils 0.16 (normal 0 - 0.04)
all rest are normal.

Done liver function & blood count test 1st of May:

Albumin: 46 (normal 26 -42)
GGT: 70 (normal 1-60) - decreased.
AST: 63 (Normal 0-42)
ALT: 64 (Normal 0-45)
all rest are normal.

Done upper abdomen ultrasound, nothing wrong whatsoever. all organs are in normal size with no sign of any problem.

after 1st of April tests, I done Hep syrology, came back positive to Hep A, negative to both Hep B & C.

My Dr. thinks its all normal & thinks that I attracted Hep A overseas & all that is because of it.

Any idea anyone to what could be the issue? if it was Hep A, wouldn't all the test be going back to normal not going up & down like that?

Hi,

What kind of drugs did you take?  Drugs put stress on the liver as all drugs are considered toxins by the body and it works hard to get rid of them.  Just might be extra stress on the body with you having the hep A - and detoxification might help. Did you ever think of contacting a naturopath?  (Nexium can make a person worse - link below)

I just had a friend that has been to a ton of MD's and ended up at a rheumatologist with a dx of Lupis or Chronic Fatigue.  After 5 years of steroid tx, she went to a good naturopath.  (I stress good here, because there are all levels of naturopaths, too)  She found out she has lead poisoning.  The regular MD's never looked, and prescribed her meds she didn't need for years, and actually did damage.

Naturopaths also look for parasites, esp if you've been out of the country.
