P. S. Have you posted on SVR or Relapse yet?
Please do so. Pat
Oh Magnum. I am so very very happy to hear this good news !
I truly empathize with your success in finally defeating this horrid virus.
I was so delighted when after two treatments and my transplant, that when II found out I finally was free from the virus, I was hugging everyone at my hepatologist's office !
Hugs hugs to you from across the web :)
OH

Congrats Mag! Well deserved

Thanks... The protocol now is blood work every 3 months, doctor every 6 months. As time progresses, the body will adjust more and more to the foreign liver. Then, the anti-rejection pills will be decreased more and more. A miracle to be sure. I walked through The Valley Of Death and came out the other side, but nearly didn't...

Congratulations Magnum! It truly is a miracle!
Congratulations!!, What wonderful news, not just SVR, but liver strong and healthy and all other signs good!
We are always happy when someone reaches SVR, but SVR with a transplant is special.
Welcome to a Hep C Free life, my friend. continue taking good care of that new liver!
Blessings,
Pat
I forgot to mention, he's had three relapses on Harvoni within the 12 week post treatment protocol. But if you consider how many patients are at the liver institute at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, that's considered a low amount. After this year, he plans to cut down on my anti-rejection medicine Prograf, because it is toxic and can cause kidney failure.

Very interesting meeting with my transplant doctor today. He reviewed all my vitals and in his own words, "I'm amazed". I asked him why, and he said "you must have gotten a very strong liver. I've had three patients that relapsed on Harvoni within the 12 weeks post treatment protocol". He reiterated that I'm cured, and that's that. He said I should be very happy because my case is unusual. He also mentioned that I looked very good and healthy.
Well, let me add that I eat very healthy. No meat, no liquor and work out three times a week. In his opinion those factors helped, but again he mentioned that I must have gotten a strong liver since I've had zero complications and no flags on my blood work results. I'm as happy as a fox in a chicken coop...
