Hello,
First... let me apologize if this is not the correct forum for this question. I posted on the other Hep forum with no replies yet.
----------------
I was hoping someone could answer a few questions. I received my results today for some recent blood work including Hep A, B, C. Everything came back good and non-reactive except for Hep B.
-Hep B surface antibody QL, said borderline positive.
-Hep B surface antigen was non-reactive
-Hep B core AB total was non-reactive.
Not sure what all this means.
My PCP said to restest in 6 weeks. They also told me the Hep B is not as serious as Hep C, however after reading what the CDC says it seems as though the reverse is true. My questions are as follows.
1. What does borderline mean?
2. How concerned should I be with Hep B?
3. If next test is positive, what are the implications and is there a cure?
4. Is there an incubation/window period from time of possible exposure?
I apologize for the ignorance, but I'm a little nervous.
Thanks
