Magnum Is Back

The spinal surgery (Leminectomy at L 3-4 and L 4-5) went well. However, there was a complication called Ileus. This is blockage of the small intestines. I didn't eat for 9 days. I had ice chips and Jell-O coming out of my ears. That cheeseburger on the 10th day was almost as good as sex...

Ileus = The relaxing of muscles due to the anesthesia forces the food to remain in your stomach instead of being digested, as a blockage of the small intestines. It was a nightmare there for a while, especially the Barium Enema. All in all, the pain level before surgery was a 10, now a 2. I'll take that.

Good to be home after three weeks of hospital food and good to be alive...
