Greatbird, I don't know the answer about the interferon and riba but our lowered white blood cell counts definitely puts us at greater risk.  It's my understanding that humans currently have NO immunity whatsoever to this particular flu.

Does anyone know if being on interferon/ribavirin puts us at greater risk or makes us stronger in dealing with a new virus like this?

My son is flying home from San Diego today - he's been living there for the past 8 months and moves back to Canada today.  A little too close to Mexico for this mom's comfort particularly with cases confirmed in California. I can't wait to have him home.  Will be keeping a very close eye on him the next while.

Yep...they just broke in with an alert on CNN. They said (which we know already) Do not go to a hospital unless ABSOLUTELY necessary...this looks quite serious so far and they more than likely expect a pandemic so they say.......

Hope not.
