Jim thanks. I'll do that if need be.
Elaine, thanks so much. Hope all is well with Nick and yourself.
ladybug, thanks and I did think of you when the tongue thing started and not getting response back from the NP. This disease is one that we as patients have to be on top of it all and who the heck feels like doing that, ya know? Good to see you. I don't read as much and I do miss reading all of your funny posts.
Congratulations, I read about the dry cracked tongue and N.P. not responding and I thought you had entered my life. Glad you got the good news!!!!! Hope you can enjoy life more without the stress of worry. I'm proud of you for doing the WHOLE tx!!!:)
Take care, I have menopausal symptoms and I thought I was over that! Does it ever end?
Hugs,
Bug
By all means contact your doctor directly. Most probably the reason you didn't feel "bad" right after tx is because the peg was still in your system. Now your body is readjusting to the calm after the storm. Things will get better and I'm sure they're not as bad as you fear -- they usually aren't.

It would be nice if "my medical team" got back to me, but they haven't. I'll have to contact the doctor rather than the NP if I continue feeling this stuff going on. The last appointment I had with the NP(4 weeks post) I didn't have the sx, but I emailed her and told her about my numbness and tingling that I feel as of recent and also asked for my results but this is all a NIagra falls story. Maybe it means "if you don't hear from me I don't think your sx are anything to worry about." Maybe I should call Sylvia Brown and ask her if that's what my nurse meant.
My PCP gave me an extra form which was nice. My mothers Oncologist I would imagine does the cryo test and the lab is on site. He runs a tight ship and I like that.
But anyhow Jim I hope you are right and that these post sx go away. Amazing- felt nothing 'during' tx and now I feel like this. My concern is that I didn't feel bad right 'after' tx. It must have started right after the 4 weeks post or somewhere around there. So of course its easy to think the worst because of feeling fine for first 4 weeks post and now this. But the other thing is I really think this abrupt halt of interferon is not good for our system. I think tapering off would be the way to go.
Talk to you again. Its almost 10:30PM and I am falling asleep at this computer.
Good luck with your next PCR, I'm sure it will be OK. But before you go cryo-crazy -- what does your medical team think? They have far more experience in this area than your PCP or mother's oncologist. Not that I'm suggesting you are, but sometimes we can go swinging at windmills with this HCV thing. An experienced med team like you're treating with should help distinguish the giants from the windmills. Also keep in mind that it's not unusual for the body to go/feel haywire in the weeks and months coming off the treatment drugs. A lot of this should resolve by itself, so sometimes doing less makes sense.
All the best,
-- Jim
Jim, you are so funny - the 90/10 ratio. Actually I am going for another PCR tomorrow. I told my PCP that before my 4 weeks post I was fine so I didn't mention anything when they drew the blood at the hep doctors office, but now with all the tingling and numbness I was concerned so he picked up his pen and filled a form out. He doesn't want me to have to wait until the middle of Sept. My PCP is a good guy. So keep your fingers crossed. Then after that keep your toes crossed. I'm going to see if my mothers Oncologist's office can give me a cryo test. Thats the test that I am actually more anxious about. The Cryo is a bigger fear than the virus as far as I am concerned. If I knew that these things I am feeling are just post sx and not cryo I would be okay with that and just say to myself that there could be alot worse things than feeling numbness. But thanks Jim - you are funny!
To the rest of you guys- thanks so much. Wish you all the best!
What great news!! Congratulations.
