I danced hanging on the bed post a lot , lol!
Yeppers, it's good to feel 'normal' during tx, even if tired doing it. I did things, visited, rode the bike (often stupid but did it anyway!) and while going down when I came home, was worth it. I was 'down' for a couple weeks straight, in bed-home and one night, even feeling awful, jumped on the bike and rode a few hours, even stopped at some local hang outs, had water:).....came home and told a friend it was sooooooo good to be 'out there'. (It was 37 degrees that night! She'd been wondering if I was loosing it on tx!) BUT.....the next day from all the shivering my body was in spasm's! But I was smiling :)
Jd, my pnuemonia took over a mth. to clear up, hope your shaking it off, getting better. Rest IS the best cure tho.

Attitude makes all the difference!
Great to see that you are having some fun.

What a great night! Excellent music, great food, DANCING!!! I'm beat today but I'm sooooo glad I went.
Cajoun it is def. worth it, when you are not feeling too bad and are able to push yourself.
you need that little reminder that you will have your life back after TX!
Those good days are hard to come by on tx. You made me smile and remember the couple of times I felt good or I pushed myself I had a blast. And, I just worried about the tried the next. It does poop you out; but so well worth it.
Good for you,
Cajun

and DANCE WITH THOSE CUTE GUYS!!!!

RITA
You're so right - we need to push. I've been fighting off pneumonia for 2 weeks and I'm ready to go out of my mind if I don't get out soon. So I'm putting my makeup on and I'll tie my deep blue (blue for Greece!) silk scarf on my bald head and I'm going to the festival at the local Greek church. I'm gonna eat some souvlaki and dance with the cute guys and if I'm exhausted tomorrow thats fine with me, because I GOTTA GET OUTA HERE!!!
I am definitely with you on this one. I am only 2 weeks into TX but had some fatigue issues b4. Today in the AM I felt great and told my husband I felt up to running. So he came home early from work to run and help with the transport on the kids with all their activities. By the time he got home I was so tired I didn't feel like making dinner. I had laid down on the bed and didn't want to get up. After dinner though I felt better and went on a short 5 mile run around the lake with him at sunset. This is a good time for us to connect with all that is going on. Well I felt better after the run than b4, as I always do, and I am really glad I did it. I need to watch out for that horizontal position it really sucks you in.
Thanks Pam, if you do push just a little, you feel "Norma" and so what if you have take a longer nap or go to bed early. i am going to try to do as much as i can to have my life during TX.
Gaug- good for you, that is great that you pushed yourself and did it!
its too easy to just lay in bed and say "oh poor me". believe me there i days when i do need to do that and i do! but like i said i want as normal as possible as long as i feel good enough to JUST DO IT!
PEACE
RITA
Well, yesterday I got up and soon went back to bed feeling lousy. Such a nice day, forced myself up and out, and ended up rowing up the Huron river for 2 hours. When i was done I felt invigorated. So, in the words of the immortal NIKE commercial.....just do it!
Hello there...your post hit home. I tried to do all I could during tx (one month post now) because it gave me some semblance of normalcy (if there is such a thing) and it kept my mind off of things. Made the time go faster too!
Sometimes I paid for it the next day, but I was determined to keep on trucking!
I realize not all can do the same level of activity as others, but doing more than you think you can (without passing out) is a plus!
Keep it up Rita!
Pam
thanks guys it felt really good to feel like myself again, i just had to share with you all. there are some good days here, and hopefully there will be less bad days!!!
love you all!
Peace
Rita
You go girl! You are so right, you have to push yourself. I always pushed myself to do anything and I would do what I could and when I couldn't do anymore I would have to go home and take a nap!
The hardest thing for me was painting my bedroom ceiling. I could only do a little bit at a time and then I would sit down and rest a few minutes before attempting to do some more. It was grueling but somehow I did it.
I loved reading your post!
Keep on pushing!!!

Good for you girl! You're post just made me smile to much. Where were you with this great advice when I was on treatment? I just laid on my bed like a corpse and watched tv and complained and whined! I could have used your great advice BIG TIME! :)
I'm happy for you that you had such a good time. What a wonderful post!
Loved reading this post! I agree Rita! Sometimes I think when you don't push your self, you feel worse!
Yeah, NEVER GIVE UP!
Absolutely! Never give in, never give up.
I don't see that in my post? Many times I did push myself and slept the next day tho. Was that in another post maybe?
Denise
Denise `i know what you mean, i slept all day yesterday, but it was worth it.
Trish ` i am going to keep fighting
I did that too --push myself---I'm sure that you have heard of seven springs? Well my brother in law and his dauther (8 years) came up to Pgh from Houston the day after Christmas. I kept thinking "How am I going to do this for a week?) My neice had never seen snow and we weren't getting any here so we went to Seven Springs for the day. I made it for the whole week that they were here and then collapsed the minute they walked out the door to go home. BUT I had fun.
Denise
Nice post. Sometimes pushing yourself is worth the price for the mental boost it gives you. Take care, Rita...keep fighting the good fight and thanks for posting that.
