Question about DX.

My Dr told me recently he thought I may have hcv although 3 previous tests were neg.  My viral load is 4300, I read it had to be higher? Also, I have a form of Lymphoma so I was also wondering if my illness could be throwing his results off?

Sorry, to clarify, the tests I had previously, for the hcv antibodies were over a period of 5yrs. But I guess my question is answered, any viral load means hep c.... Well thank-you both.

What exactly are the names of the blood tests you had?
It makes no logical sense. Why would any doctor perform 4 tests for hepatitis C, when 2 tests at most and needed to assess if you are infected or not?

Any viral load unfortunately means you are chronically infected.
Lymphoma is a total different illness.
Please get a referral to a specialist, a gastroenterologist, who can further assess your hepatitis C infection.

In the future please post medical hepatitis C questions in the "Hepatitis C Community". People will help you with your hepatitis C medical issues there.

Welcome.
Hector

Maybe your doctor is more concerned about your Lymphoma at this time?

This really doesn't make sense to me.
My understanding is if you have a viral load you can not be negative.
I suggest you post this on the hep C side of the forum. This is the social side.
