Last Shots Tonight!!!!!

What a feeling of accomplishment!  First, I emptied out the blue and red cool-pack that was compliments of Roche... put the last two Neupogen syringes and alcohol packets in a zip-lock bag to give to a veterinarian friend of mine.  Passed on the cool-pack to my hubby, who will use it to pack our lunch in when we go riding (geee....I'll have some warm and fuzzy memories every time I look at it), and got my syringes ready for the final blast off.  I never thought I'd be so excited over giving myself two shots, but I almost couldn't sit still!  Then, when the deed was done, I whooped and hollered like a crazy cowboy (girl?) on a cattle drive!!

YEEEEEHAAAAAAA!!!

And then I threw my remaining vial of Neupogen in the trash.  Good riddance!

Now another week of Riba...

Aloha, Michelle

I feel great compared to the past 48 weeks! I think the end of tx is a big morale booster and that helps in the recovery period. I'm still a little tired but that too will pass. I did riba for almost an additional week. Last Thur I counted my little pink pills for the last time, found out somewhere, somehow, missed a dosage which would have taken me to Sat morning. I couldn't have that!!  So I took my afternoon dosage like a good boy, opened up the trash can, and said bye bye to the rest of my little pink pills. I did keep the empty bottle and an empty box my syringes came in. Gotta have a reminder of what we have been through. Best of luck to you!!  I'll be around.  I have a feeling we're going to have alot of folks to look after on this forum in the upcoming future. I just put up a pineapple flag on my mailbox!  Closest thing to your paradise!! Stay well!

Hey Teuf., if you're still here:  good to hear from you!  Let me know how you're feeling; I can't remember if you did the Riba for a week after or not.  Can't wait to feel the effects; right now, it's the same old, same old, but that will pass.  Yesterday Snoopy was dragging his butt, big time!!  :-)  Thanks!

Yeah Baby we are done with these shots. Though I don't feel quite as exicted as you at this point, hubby still on tx for 26 weeks, hard to celebrate when we are still in the midst of it. But I wishing us all SVR's and hopefully we will recover quickly.

Mahalo to all your friendship, laughter and support; it helped to take some of the burden off of TX.  For the most part, coming to the forum was the one thing I could really look forward to (besides getting a daily email from my best cyber buddy OH!!).  I did back away when things got too nuts here, though...

ldb---in a nutshell, between the 3rd and 4th week to 12th week, my body was trying desperately to adjust to the assault it was under; so was my mind.  The 9th-12th weeks were the worst, as far as depression went.  I felt so lousy I didn't want to come here for help.  And I even got a Rx for Prozac, which I promptly hid in my drawer----don't want to take that stuff!!  I was depressed because I was trying to fight the side effects and just couldn't; had no energy or strength to get much done around here... finally I just gave in and went along for the ride.  At that point I started to feel better.  Then, at week 22 (out of 24) I just wanted it to be over---I WANT MY LIFE BACK!!  And the days started dragging.  Now, with one more week of Riba, I think I can, I know I can!!!  Fortunately my doctor prepared me for the worst.

Cindy; I couldn't imagine my husband going through this... yikes!  But congrats on your behalf...

Congratulations!!! Class of 2007 is growing and that's good news. I wish you the very best. I did take the Riba this morning with my breakfast. I knew I would have to wait until the 'day of 'to see which way the wind was blowing as to whether I would continue with the riba. I'm not good with decisions at all. So as of today I will be taking the riba for the rest of the week. Who knows though, maybe tomorrow I'll change my mind.

So very happy for you!!
