I often wonder how women are able to do that, the utter pain in their faces during all that! Especially if it's a long labor or a big headed baby! lol...whenever I see guys acting really tough, and a lot of them are pretty tough, no doubt...I wonder how many people would be walking around the planet if guys were the ones to give birth? whattaya say? About 80? lol...just kiddin guys!

Try not to stress over the tx. Some have it very easy. I didn't feel anything at all - first shot had flu like symptoms and a bit of bone pain for about 2 weeks and the rest was so easy. I didn't feel it at all, really. And there are lots of others that didn't feel the side effects either. I was concerned about the sx also, but it was easy.

You'll be fine. If I remember correctly you are a geno 2? For some reason g-2's seem to have it easier as far as sx. Ya know what, any woman that gave birth to a baby shouldn't worry about sx at all, cause if you can get thru child birth, anything else in life should be easy - I can't even imagine, but I tip my hat to any woman who gave birth - especially the ones that did the natural....I remember a TV show and the woman said "oh yeah, childbirth is nothing,,,,its like having a turkey come out of your nostril".

You'll be fine.

Wish you the best! Said a prayer for ya too!

as Nygirl said, better get a good attorney, ask how many cases he's won vs lost, and how much experience he has...it's an inside group like anything, and if you have a good lawyer, he knows all the judges because the fed judges that do this mostly used to be SS lawyers...it's a lot of who they know like anything else...if you have a good lawyer upfront, you might not have to deal with appeals, like some friends I have...it's all in that blog I put on there...good luck....

getting social security is not easy.  I just got my second turn down letter yesterday.  I applied based on both my Hep C and my Rheumatoid Arthritis and I'm having to fight tooth and nail.  I see an attorney on Friday.  My biggest problem is that I'm still young (47) and I have a college education.

I used to work in a law firm that did social security claims and in the 9 years that I was working there I only saw 2 people still get turned down even after getting an attorney.   So prepare yourself for a long wait and expect on having to get an attorney after you file your first 2 attempts.

P.S.  I started this process back on May 22, 2007

it will take quite a long time if you ever get anything out of them - unfortunately you have to have so much documentation from doctors that you really CANT work...(even though it's the money we've contributed in for years!!).

I had broken several vertebra in my back and I had a physical trauma to my brain (which actually had a "dent" in it) and they didn't give it to me for the broken back - the brain injury got it. Imagine that? And it took well over a year - probably a year and a half.

You might be well off to get a lawyer to help - are you physically disabled from the hep? Not many people really are that bad that they'd even consider it unfortunately.

Good luck!~

hi, been told on good authority that is a very good blog regarding all the intricacies of applying for SS and SSI because of Hep C...you do realize that they don't exactly give it to you if you just have a disease, and disease...I think most people don't realize that, you have to be able to prove (to their specs) why you are too disabled to work...this blog is a good one to describe the process, etc...

hope you get something from it...
