You may end up having to have your thyroid removed if they can't get it under control with the meds I think. Being hyper is much more dangerous.
But it seems that the doctor needs to make an adjustment. Have you seen the endo recently?
My synthroid was adjusted once and I think it's doing ok (I'll have the next TSH done when I get the PCR). Does the Synthroid adjust the TSH OR does it adjust the T3s???? I think someone told me it wasn't the tsh that was changed with the med and it was the T4 (or 3 whichever one it is they test on us I forget).
You're almost done. Chances are the thyroid is not going to go back to normal but everything else should. Don't worry about the platelets and stuff now - you're at the end by the time you got to a point it'd be really bad...they'll be back to fine cause you'll be off the ifn/riba poisons :)
You are ALMOST THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone can give me some input about thyroid issues I would really appreciate it. thanks and hanging in there...I WILL FINISH THIS TX !!! hugs :) shelly
I wouldn't sweat it too bad for now - you only have 2 more shots and then it can be dealt with...You deserve a huge prize for 72 weeks on this frigging train - I have total respect for anyone that can that!
*dip*
Hang tough you almost at the gate.
best wishes
Alohas , oops, me in So.Cal right now lol..
Heck w/ it... Aloha a hui hou !! R.
Mine was exactly like yours except backwards. Happened at about the same time, interferon induced now it's just going to be wrecked for the rest of my life, like "most" autoimmune cases it goes drastically hyper than hypo fast. Unfortunately yours went backwards.
My cousin (not a hepper) just had her thyroid removed. First they gave her mega amounts of radiation to kill it (she couldn't even touch her baby for three days) and then they just operated and removed it.
Thyroid storm is what I think they worry about and why they remove it.
I wish you could get to an Endo. An internest really doesn't know jack about thyroids you know? Not that I do either.
I'm actually surprised that the internest hasn't at least called in an endo for advice (you know to ask him not to treat you if your insurance won't cover). My hep doc was EXCELLENT that way - if he wasn't sure of something (and face it since none of his patients had even HEARD of doing the 72 weeks let alone do it) he would just get right on the phone and double check and get opinions.
Do you know if your internest has done anything like that? It might help get you a better course of action?
The most important thing is that WHICHEVER one you take STAY with it. Don't switch back and forth during tx. As I understand it you can make yourself really sick by taking one for a few months and then switching to the other brand.
so I start a round of antibiotics again...high dose short 7 days...augmentin 875mg ...so hopefully feel better in a few days...then my specialist called and he has to check his chart but he thinks I'm one shot short of 72?? I can't recall but according to my records I am okay...he's to double check and call back...ahhh whats another extra right??? other than that hubby is coming home tonight and he will take care of me...going to rest but not too much as the fluid lays in the lungs...ugh.. I hope all are doing better been saying lots of prayers as of late for all of us...hugs to all :) shelly
I will check in on the posts hopefully tomarrow....
Hang in there, almost thru. You're right, stay upright for the lungs to stay as clear as possible.
Hugs,

You're like me - no matter how bad my little black cloud is - I realize there is someone far, far worse off than me.
I hope your month gets better and that your friend gets the help she needs. She could be just getting too stressed - I hope that she gets some much needed relief from all of the pressures that she is going through. WoW!
And it's awesome that you are there for her.
People in this world need people like you.
I just popped in here - I don't know anything about the thyroid - I'm on .10 of synthroid - but hardly ever take it for hypothyroid. So I'm no good on helping --- But I wanted to give you a hug - and hopefully give you a little smile.
Remember a ray of sunshine will bring down that black cloud.... And sometimes it only takes a bright smile to help that ray of sunshine along the way.
HUGS!
