So I figured out what to do about my deal with the job and my Hep

Thank you guys so much for writing me about some help with the job. But I have an update... I called and called and finally figured out that I could file a complaint with the EEOC. Then I was referred to an attorney through an area judge. He told me that I was already on top of things, that the first thing they would do is file a complaint with the EEOC and then go from there. I have the complaint filled out, a Dr's statement, and so far one of the former coworkers statements and have another that wrote one for me to pick up, plus my timed statement of how everything went down and what all was said. So with all of that and the claim filed, and the phone call to them where they said I had a case to fill out everything and get this started... I'm well on my way. Hopefully these stupid, judgemental pricks get what they deserve! And I get some payback for the loss of wages and embarrassment they have caused!

Bravo to lovebilly for taking appropriate action on this and helping to educate those people, and bravo to heart-in-the-keys for such an incredibly strong attitude. I feel the same way, but have never found the words as well as you did!

Excellent.  You are on your way.  Hopefully one day this will just be a bad memory.   I learned along time ago that rude people aren't bothered when you are rude back.

There are always going to be stupid people.  I am doing tests to get on pre-transplant list and one of the steps is you have to see the hospital social worker.  She actually asked me "how did you get the HCV".   I was dumbfounded.

Here she is working in the Liver Transplant area as their social rep and she asks me that question.  I asked her how much time did she have.  Then I quickly listed off a half of dozen of ways someone could get HCV.  I told her I had a list if she needed more.  I thought how STUPID.  No one realllllly knows how they were infected by this virus.  They can assume.  With that assumption comes a lot of guilt.  There are just too many ways....no one really knows.  It's a waste of time.

Anyone who had blood to blood contact or a transfusion prior to 1989 could have been infected.  Most people take the guilty trial.  I was no angel but I am not going to beat myself up because of HCV that could have been lying dormant in my system. That's just wastes time.

Don't you do it either.  It is not your fault.  You have.  That's it.  Now do everything you can to get rid of it including taking care of yourself daily.
Do not feel guilt.  Do not allow others to make you feel less than or bad.  Stand strong.  Sounds like you are a strong person so my best to you.  Keep us posted as to how this works out for you. Good Luck!!!
