Cree is in the hospital

Good morning all,
I want to let you all know that Cree (creewoman) is in the hospital with high ammonia levels and fatally low sodium levels.  As you may know, Cree has decompensated Cirrhosis and ESLD.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Wow - you have been through the ringer lately.  Well, I am glad you are home.  the sterility of the hospital setting may be necessary but cannot compare to home.  You sure sound like you have picked up a lot of knowledge in the last six months or so -- and have not lost your humor.  Hang in there, cree.  I will be thinking about you.

and thanks, advocate, for being a contact.  I wish we all had a contact to post on our behalf if ever needed.

Hey I am so glad you are hanging in there and posting.  I take Spironlactone for a different reason and in the beginning I had to be careful since it could deplete my sodium but that tapered off. I do have to drink a V8 once in a while though. I imagine regulating your sodium is tricky since we do need at least some sodium to function however I understand it should be reduced and monitored with advanced liver conditions.

I hope you can check in every once in a while and let us know how you are doing! :)

Take care

The last two days I have been more wakeful still having alittle trouble with mobility.I walk like I'm drunk at times,I guess it goes just fine with thinking like one!Ha! My ammonia levels were very high.Taking the dreaded Lactulose 45 ml's3 times per day.It isn't working as well as it should maybe I am thinking because of the water I am unable to drink and the sodium.
This all started because I limited my sodium intake so much that I wiped it out with my water drinking.Historically I have low sodium and my body has become accustomed to it or it would have killed me.When it abruptley chaged and I had been drinking more water because of swelling. To my way of the thikng I was flushing out toxins.;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;! Woops I nodded again!
It takes me forever to complete simple chores that is if I remember what to do.Griz watched over me carefully and left me alone for the first time.I just go to sleep anyway so he has no worries.
So anyway I am here and improving,it is going to be long term to get sodium levels up.I cannot be given sodium because it will cause it's own set of problems. The high potassium is temorary and will probably be resolved by taking a lower dose of spirulactonone. It's a lot to keep in mind every minute and the ammonia levels well...i will just enjoy being drunk without alcohol and have fun with it.
I will keep you updated and if things go south Addy will let you know as she also knows my cell number
Later my beloved Allies!

Just what I said above your question, home, doing better, working on balancing sodium and potassium, and difficult to stay awake.

Cree is home from the hospital and doing OK at home. Her potassium levels are still very high, and she's having difficulty staying awake. Cree thanks you all for your love, well wishes, and prayers.

Thanks so much for posting this. I hope there is a way you keep in touch with her to let her know so many of us are thinking about her. I never really respond to many of her posts since they usually require familiarity with advanced liver disease and cirrhosis - but I follow them just the same and like others worry about her and hope she is OK. I hope you let her know that we are all rooting and praying for her. I have so much respect and compassion for her plight♥

Cree's sodium level is improved, but potassium is low. Ammonia is still high. She's still in the hospital, but sends greetings to all.
