Herpetic whitlow

Ok so I've gotten cold sores for years, recently  got this rash on my finger that was exactly like my cold sores. Went to the doc and yup I have herpes on my finger. They renewed my aclyvore script and sent me on my way but didn't tell me anything. I've been using abreva and my pills but until tonight hadn't even had it covered with a bandaid! Ntm after I wash my hands I then rehash my not out broken hand. I'm clueless please help me!

That's completely fine. It needs air like any wound to heal.

I had to uncover it for a Lil bit, my whole finger had turned white. Haven't touched anything just giving it a Lil air to get some color back in it

So as long as it's bandaged I don't need to be terrified of spreading it to the rest of my body?

No need to over wash. Just general good hygiene is all you need. Herpes whitlow is only contagious to others while there is an active outbreak. It doesn't shed.
Im sorry to hear about your hsv1 spreading to your hand.

Now I have bandaids on the one finger but the fingers on either side itch and idk if it's cause my hands are so dry from all the washing or if I'm getting more so I put bandaid on those too :(
