1mm wide cracks in the lips - oral herpes or food allergic???

Hi,
After the protected oral sex with CSW, 1-2 weeks later, I have started some weird symptoms in my mouth. I didn't have any fever blisters or sores in my mouth, but small cracks(like 1mm wide) in my lower lips, (around 2 to 3). It goes away in 2days without any treatment. In the last 3 months, it came back again in 4 or 5 times. All the time i noticed this small cracks when I eat some spicy foods. I don't feel pain at all. but when I touch these small cracks with my tongue, it irritates me.

1) Is this a oral herpes or food allergic? I tested NEGATIVE for HSV1 using herpes select at 11 weeks.
2) What are the chances this will change to POSITIVE in 4-5 weeks time period?

1- testing now if fine

2 - doesn't sound like herpes.

3 - the rates of hsv1 infection are even higher in india.  oral herpes is not a std. most folks get it when they are children. ideally both you and your partner would get tested for hsv1 to know  your status.

Thanks Grace for your valuable input.

So you are saying, if I take a HerpeSelect test IgG fro HSV1&2 tomorrow and if it come back as NEGATIVE, then I don't need to take another test and I can move on with my life. Right?

Please pray to god for me Grace. I will never do this kind of things in my life.
Thanks and take care

Hi Grace, Thanks for your proper answer. I have a last question to ask.

I want to put these things (HSV1&2) behind my mind. I would like to get tested for HSV1&2 once for all for the last time. I just want 100% sure that I don't have both HSV1 and HSV2, since I am going to start a new relationship in couple of months.

1) I have completed 12 weeks and 2 days as of now. Can I take one final test this week or do you suggest me to test at the end of 16 weeks? ( I tested NEGATIVE for herpes 2 weeks before).

2) I had 2 small cuts or cracks in my lips 2 days ago and it is gone in 2 days. So far it happened 5 or 6 times in last 3 months. Do you think it is asymptotic herpes outbreak?
Does oral herpes outbreak finish in 2 days? I heard that oral herpes outbreak's average period is 8-12 days..

3) More than half of adults in USA having oral herpes. But I am from India and I dont want to transmit my oral herpes to my fiancee after marriage by kissing her. Then definitely she will ask what is this? Then my marriage will come to an end. I am terrified.

Please answer those 3 questions Grace, Please help me....

I wouldn't bother with more herpes testing.

statistically 1 out of every 2-3 people you've ever kissed in a lifetime has hsv1 orally. it's very common and not worth testing for after every kiss to be honest.

Thanks Grace for your input. Yes, you may be correct. I consulted with Dr. yesterday and he also told me that it was not oral herpes for 100% sure. If it was oral herpes, you will see one or group of blisters.

1) Do you recommend me to take another herpes test in 2-4 weeks? How reliable is the test at 11 weeks? I don't think, she kissed my lips. I only had protected oral activity?

Thanks for your time and input

it doesn't sound like oral herpes going on.

could be a fungal infection going on though or many other things. follow up on it with a dermatologist for better answers.

I wanted to ask one more question.

3) I started developing this symptom after 1 week of the encounter. If this was really a oral herpes, wouldn't it show up in the HSV test I took after 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 10 weeks?
My all HSV1&2 herpeselect tests were NEGATIVE after 4, 8 and 10 weeks.
