Quick question/concern

I have been dating someone for a month and they are aware of my positive hsv 2 status. I have never had an outbreak but we use condoms everytime. Last night we had sex and after I noticed something on my vagina and now I am worried I may have had an outbreak but didn't know it!! If it is an outbreak..is it inevitable that he contracted hsv 2? We did use a condom but I know that might not be completely helpful if I was indeed having an outbreak!! Please help!!

Although it costs a bit, many find the Westernblot test for HSV money well spent to find out. Anything else is probably speculation; unless you can get a sore swabbed?

No I did mean I haven't had an outbreak...I could be one of those people who has but does not realize but I have never had anything obvious.

That is a high number, but still in the range of requiring a confirmation test such as Westernblot.

Sorry I interpreted your original note as indicating that you hadn't had an outbreak previously, but I misread that. if you've  had a previous partner with HSV2 and outbreaks in the past then infection is very likely.

What was the exact outcome of your blood test, was there a value for HSV2?

Folks can have multiple unprotected sex, even with a open herpes sore and not pass it on. Takes the right situation and area. If a condom was used and he does not shave,  his pubic mount area would have some protection from the hair as can act as a barrier to some extent.

Blood test! Even though he knows I would still feel awful if I gave this to him! I have been trying to find some sort of statistical data or percentage and cannot find anything!

Hi, not necessarily even with an outbreak. How were you diagnosed with hsv2?
