2 questions

Question 1) Tuesday will be 12 weeks to the day from my brief protected vaginal encounter.  While it won't technically be 3 months, which would be the 21st, will that be enough time for an accurate test if I do the full range of tests on Monday?

Question 2) I was wondering what the fissures would look like. I look daily for bumps and I can't find any that would qualify as herpes (the ones I've had have gone away with antibiotics - both oral and topical). I have a slight burning sensation in the crease of skin to the upper right of my penis and I'm wondering if a fissure could be the culprit. The burning sensation comes and goes and has been going on for about 4-5 days.  If not that, then it could just be my anxiety. As it is hard to go a full minute without thinking about whether I have it or not.

I very clear negative result at 12 weeks and no symptoms, that's as conclusive as it gets!

Getting ready to have a new partner and my anxiety is still making me doubt a bit. Can I conclusively let this go?

Got my test results back from Monday. I'm negative for everything...still. Overall, based on a type 2 4 week post exposure .27 result and a 12 week .24 result, along with my the fact I had a very brief protected encounter, do you think I'm right to take this recent test as conclusive?

antibiotics will encourage fungal over growth too. might even need an antifungal at this point.

Thanks grace. This whole thing has been a perfect storm of bad timing...about a month after this encounter I had folliculitus and eczema pretty bad. That spiked my anxiety and I've been high with anxiety ever since. Ive been on antibiotics for pretty much 1.5 months and the symptoms that concern me have been fairly long lasting (which I realize is in my favor re: hsv2 and indicative of anxiety).  At this point I need testing for peace of mind and I just wanted to make sure I gave myself time for a reliable result.

the odds that you contracted herpes from a one time protected encounter are incredibly low. we recommend protected sexual contact for a reason - it works!!

Certainly if you have a partner to protect, seek out herpes igg blood testing at the 12 week mark so you can move forward. Honestly if you don't have a regular partner, no reason to even test - the risk was THAT low.

also call off the crotch watch! The more you look, the more you irritate the skin and the more you start to worry about things you otherwise would've never worried about.  use a corn starch based powder ( unscented ) on the crook of your leg that is irritated. That will soothe the skin as well as protect it from irritation and friction so it can heal.
