90% reduction of risk with condoms

Handsfield on March 27 reported a 90% reduction in risk for herpes with condom use.

I have seen 50% on this forum, and I'm wondering why the discrepancy? I'd like to be accurate when I tell any new partners about risk reduction. :o)

I'd ask him specifically in that post.  It's not a  study that I"m familar with so ask.

I know there was a hpv study a few years back that showed 90% reduction in transmission of hpv but not one that showed that high of reduction in transmission in hsv but sometimes he has access to studies that haven't been published yet so I'd ask him.

Thanks, but I think that is considered "thread-jumping"  over in that forum so I'd have to pay to have him answer it.   :o(

Can I keep going with questions? :o)

If people shed HSV2 15-20% of days in a year, why isn't the risk of contraction 15-20% per year? I mean, why is it so much lower than that? (5%)

no it's not thead jumping to ask him to cite a reference to a stat in a thread that he's used it in.  It's thread jumping to ask your own question about your own issue in a thread.

you don't always have sex on days you are shedding.
