Burning Sensation Question- Herpes

Thank you in advance for any help offered!

2 months ago I started a 30 day dose of doxyciclone for a scalp condition. At the same time I also had unprotected sex with a couple different girls. 2 weeks into the prescription I began to have a tingling and burning sensation on the tip of my penis and penis head as well as the bottom of my scrotum skin. It looks normal. I even had a dermatologist look at my penis head and he said it looked normal. I disagree personally. I think it is more red than normal and has a little dry skin on the head. I also had a gonorrhea and chlamydia test which was negative. Plus the medication I was on would have killed any of that anyways. After I finished the medication the burning sensation all but went away for a couple weeks. It was very mild. Now it is week 7 and my scrotum and penis head have the burning sensation again. Again, the skin looks normal other than a faint bit of red on the tip of my penis. I have no discharge, no pain urinating, no blisters, no scabs, no ulcers, no flu symptoms, no more back pain than usual.

What could this be? My main concern is that its herpes or hpv, what are the chances this could be herpes?

Thanks. Also, I have a refill for another 30 day dose of doxyciclone. The derm said I should take it if my scalp condition comes back. Should I go ahead and take it as well, or leave it alone?

once again this sounds more fungal than herpes.

Thanks for the advice. One follow up question...

Can a warm/burning sensation with a slight fire red color with no boundary definition on the penis head AND bottom of scrotum, Which has been constant, but off and on in intensity over the past 7 weeks be herpes?

I wouldn't take antibiotics at this point. go and be seen again and get a proper exam done again and testing to see if anything shows up.

being on antibiotics can cause yeast overgrowth in the genital area. You might want to discuss with your doctor treating for it.

hpv won't cause pain and it won't come and go like this.

you have to wait 3 months after the last time you had sex to get a type specific herpes igg blood test done.

saves a lot of headaches ( and money ) to have protected sex with strangers :)
