herpes sore

Hi,

I had a culture done today on a swollen sore blister near the opening of my vagina.

I assume it was broken so they could swab it.  The blister is now gone and the swelling has gone down too. I am left still sore and there is a barely noticable sore.  I have to strain to see it.  Very different then what it was before the swab.

We are almost positive that it is HSV2, even though I tested negative two months ago with a blood test.,,

I was curious is this is the healing process of the virus? Is it common after the blister is popped that it starts to feel a little better?

This would be my first noticable outbreak so I really am looking for some information on how the healing process works.

thank you!

yes , usually when the herpes blister breaks it means it is on its way to healing so it would feel better. check out herpes facts on westover heights site or asha site, very informative. good luck with your test results. take care

Could the reason for a false negative HSV2 specific blood test be because I had never had an outbreak? Therefor there were no antibodies in my system?

If you have the virus but have never had an outbreak, do you still have detectable antibodies?

Thank you.
