Am I positive or negative on HSV 1 and HSV2

This has been sleepless nights and emtional stress for me My OBGYN says i was just exposed and I dont have Herpies 1 and 2 but my regular physician says iam postive and I need to be on meds my test reads as follows





HSV 1 and 2, IGG      hsv 1 positv:4.79

                                      hsv 2 positive 1.21
1.10 iv positive antibody detected which may indicate a current or previous hsv infection

you are + for hsv1. can you recall ever having had a cold sore ever?

your hsv2 is also positive but it's a very low positive and needs confirmed with further testing.   http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Herpes/low-positives---confirmatory-results/show/1097724#post_5968138  is a prior post on this for more reading as to why it's important to pursue confirmatory testing.  how long prior to your testing had you last had sex?  was there a particular reason why you were tested or was this just a routine screening?

do you have a regular partner? if so, have they been tested for herpes yet?

Iam just not understanding does your number tells if u will have out breaks being exposed meaning in the herpies term you are infected.and I can infect someone else the DR said she will not give me any meds because iam not concidered positive iam so lost I did post other readings of full result

I'm not a dr, but if you have been tested and they found antibodies for Hsv 1 or 2 then its more than likely a positive test.  It doesn't mean that you are going through an outbreak at this time but it means that you have been exposed.
