Antibodies

Does anyone know how many equivocal herpes blood tests usually retest as positive???Or what reasons there are for someone who suspects they picked up the virus years ago to test as equivocal???Do the antibodies lessen with time????

herpes won't go away that quickly.

this sounds like some other sort of infection going on.

Thanks Grace,If i could just ask one more quick question,The sores i found yesterday in my pubic hair area,One seems to be gone today and the other is just like a red sore,no puss or anything,And theres no soreness at all today.Does that sound like herpes sores or more of an ingrown hair,or pimple situation??I know most people/websites say the blisters from herpes are painful, but ive also read so many people say theyre symptoms are VERY different from what the "professionals" say.I think im now just putting EVERYTHING that happens to me down to herpes,I know i shouldnt but i just cant help it!!!!!!!

Herpes won't cause the symptoms you are having as frequently as you are having them.  It's really time to think other causes than herpes.

Many things can cause issues. you've ruled out the basic infections. hopefully you can find a gyn who is willing to work hard to find out what is going on and get answers soon!

Ok Grace,Thanks for the taking the time to read my post and reply, many times.I guess i will wait for my next Gyno appointment and go from there. In the meantime i will try to focus on looking for other possible causes,Im not having sex or anything,so i guess it doesnt matter if i have to wait a bit longer to find out whats wrong,If it herpes i will just have to deal with it if and when i find out. This virus is just so frustrating,It seems to me unless you have a "classic outbreak"with blisters etc,it is very difficult to diagnose,I know most research would be looking for a cure, but i dont think it would hurt if in the meantime someone looked into a more simple, accurate test for the bugger!!!!Thanks again!!!

yes, they tested for all other stds, plus bacterial infections, thrush, did an ultrasound, pap smear.Im at my wits end.Ive been looking on the internet for weeks now,i cant anything that matches my symptoms. Its like more symptoms keep coming,At first it was just the discharge, then the irritation/burning,then the cramping started. And now the rash on my thigh and the bumps in my pubic hair.I was tested again a few weeks ago for stds etc and it came up that i had thrush,so i used the cream you insert for 6 nights, didnt change anything. Then the oral canesten, didnt change anything, then Nizoral for 5 days, still no change.Ive never been itchy, exept on my thigh.I know i mustve had thrush but i think it may have been mild and not what is causing my symptoms.I'll just be honest here,I had a few one nights in my early 20's (around 10 yrs ago)And ive worried ever since,I was tested for stds after that time but not herpes.Im not sure if its the guilt making me convinced i have herpes, but the symptoms are very real.I was so sure i'd get a clear answer from the blood test, having  the equivocal result has thrown me,I cant think about anything else, but i cant start dealing with having herpes when i dont know for sure if i have it,and i cant focus on looking for other answers either while i am pretty convinced it is herpes.

clear/white vaginal discharge pretty much every day,irritation/burning.soreness all over vagina, inside and out, sore skin around bum (sorry to be graphic),itchy rash on thigh, and today i just noticed 2 red bumps in my pubic hair area. They dont look like blisters, more like ingrown hairs but now im scared thats related to herpes to herpes too.I also have a lot of bad cramping, like period pain but stronger,i know thats probably not related to herpes but ive been tested for everything and its all clear.Ive also had pain and bleeding during sex in the past.I have a gyno appointment in a month, but ive already seen gyno's, and Dr's galore.

If you test negative you wont have to retest. If you test positive it wont be a false positive!Your test results will be correct.
