hello,

i've had hsv2 for two years and believe it has spread to my arms, thighs, and chest. i've got a 9-month old at home and am horrified that she will get this. is it possible she could get?

Stop thinking herpes all over your body!

Also have you followed up with your provider to make sure you don't have other issues going on down yonder? Vaginitis is a big trigger for herpes and can mimick ob's too. The changes in hormones can trigger issues too.

grace, i was hoping to hear from you as you seem very knowledgeable about hsv2. i was prescribed acyclovir one month before giving birth and stopped taking it afterwards as i wasn't having many ob's. a couple months ago ob's became more frequent (feels like one after another) and i started noticing the blemishes at first on my arm - some look like red rashes and fade away others are circular and sit flat on the surface of my skin and seem to darken in color from time to time. i've now noticed these "blemishes" on my thighs and chest.

like i said earlier, the doc told me not to worry and wasn't concerned and just recommended i take medication when i feel an ob coming on.

i really don't know where to turn for answers and if it's as contagious as it was for me (i got from my husband with no evident ob) then i am extremely afraid for my daughter if i have it on so many body parts.

You need a further work up on this but not because of herpes. Obviously something is going on but it's very unlikely to be herpes all over that many body parts.  What did your doctor think it was? Did she prescribe any treatments for it?

i went to my doctor and she said it was not hsv2 and that if they tested it would scar my arm and not to worry, however, the blemishes on my arms, thighs, and chest resemble very closely to ob on genitals.

really very scared and don't want to pass this to daughter.

It's more likely you don't have HSV2 "spread[ing] to [your] arms, thighs, and chest." Did a doctor tell you this is what it is?
