Can HSV2 be spread to hands?

I am having an outbreak in my anal region. Probably on about day 5 the outbreak. My partner touched me on my genitals with his hands but did not touch the outbreak area. Is it possible for him to contract HSV2 on his hands? He did not come into contact directly with the sore.

The odds are extremely low that he would contract herpes whitlow. So incredibly low that it doesn't warrant concern.
